to activate your membership you will need to get a form from Payroll at iris. you can also add family members at a small extra cost. Just ask Payroll for more information.

iris also automatically gives you excellent Group Income Protection at absolutely no cost. if you are too sick or too injured to work, then we will continue to pay you full pay for 6 weeks, followed by half pay for another 6 weeks. if after 26 weeks you are still unable to come to work, we will pay out 50% of your gross salary tax-free for up to 5 years. iris may be the only place in england that actively encourages you to join a gang. We like to make work fun so we always take time out to get together and enjoy the ‘work hard, play hard’ ethos that we’re famous for. To do this, we’ve put together a few squads that you can get involved in:

• Smile Squad: for all things fun, whether it’s pumpkin carving at halloween, or ice creams in the summer – there’s something for everyone to smile about.

• Lash Squad: does what it says on the tin. Gets you lashed – whether it’s at the summer or Christmas forum, or wearing lederhosen and drinking German beers with your pals. our events get iris socialising outside of the office environment.

no matter who the father is, the family will take care of you. iris gives all mums-to-be over and above the statutory maternity benefits. We offer enhanced maternity pay as follows:

• 1-3 yrs service: 8 weeks’ full pay• 3-5 yrs service: 12 weeks’ full pay• 5 yrs +: 16 weeks’ full pay

We’re the daddy when it comes to paternity. new dads can expect their statutory rights of paternity pay and leave providing they meet the relevant conditions of entitlement. iris will also enhance the first 2 weeks of paternity leave to full pay. to discuss this further, please see the People team.

kids. Wouldn’t swap them for the world. they can be bloody expensive though. if you have children under 16 years old, you could be saving hundreds of pounds a year on your childcare costs with Computershare voucher services. the vouchers can be used to pay for registered childcare, including nurseries, nannies, childminders, au pairs, out of school clubs and holiday schemes/camps. it’s done as part of a salary exchange – iris deduct a certain amount from your salary each month and as a tax payer you will benefit from these being exempt from tax and ni.

When you work and play as hard as we do, you’ll need a couple of well-earned weeks of rehab. that’s why we offer the following holiday benefits:

• 20 days basic, plus bank holidays, plus 3-4 days between Christmas and new year

• a day off for your birthday to be taken anytime that week• an extra day each year when you’ve worked with us 2,

3 and 4 years (capped at 23 days)• the option of buying an extra 5 days’ holiday per year

When you have worked at iris for 5 calendar years, you have the option to take a sabbatical – up to 3 months of unpaid leave. this is a great opportunity to go travelling or to take a break from work with the assurance that your job will still be waiting for you when you return.

the scheme, provided by scottish life, is administered by our ifa, Grayside limited, and is set up to use the salary exchange system. iris have agreed that all of the savings provided through this system will be passed on to you to enhance your pension. this effectively increases the value of the sum invested into your pension plan by a minimum of 17.7% and can be as high as 30% depending on your current salary level.
