FROM THE RECTOR 20 April 2014 Dear Friends, After his suffering and death, the resurrection of Jesus is God’s great intervention, inaugurating a new order of things. It is the triumph of Love over sin and death, making possible reconciliation and

friendship with God who created us for himself. Christ is risen! He awaits the apostles in Galilee in order to give them their universal mission. Please continue to pray for Kathryn Fox to be baptised at the Easter Vigil. With every blessing, Fr Steven Salmon, Rector

Music Notes for Easter Day: This morning’s mass setting is ‘Festive Eucharist’, written by the English organist Dr Noel Rawsthorne (b. 1929), in 1978 to commemorate the completion of Liverpool Cathedral, UK. The anthem is the famous Easter carol, 'This joyful Eastertide’ whose traditional tune echoes the joyful Easter celebrations with the repeated rising phrase set to the word ‘arisen’. The voluntary, ‘Toccata in D minor’ by the French composer Albert Renaud (1855-1924), ably demonstrates the qualities of our wonderful new organ, but also the joy of the Feast Day.

The Easter Party will follow the 7:30pm Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday evening. All are welcome Please bring a plate to share for supper.
