Letme tell you something youmay not already know:You are one incredible person.

Just think about it. You've been through a LOTover the last couple ofyears. I mean... just... wow. But, look at you. You're still here. You're oneresilient individual. I'm proud of you.

It's been a long strange trip for us here at The RandomActs ofKindness Foundation aswell. We've spentmanymonthsworkingharder than ever tomake kindness the norm during themostchallenging of times. We could not have done any of it without YOU.You are the fuel that keeps this world kind, caring and compassionate.I know, sometimes itmay not feel that way, but when you scratchbeneath the surface of the negativity and conflict we see around us,it's clear that human beings are gooooood. And, you're one of them!

Thework to create a kinder world never ends. There is no limit on theamount of goodnesswe can put into theworld. So, what are you goingto do in 2022 tomake kindness the norm?

Your friend,

Brooke JonesVice President

“Forever – is composed of nows”Emily Dickinson

This quote by Emily Dickinson is profound. If we think about forever as something in the future, then it can never be found. Instead, know that forever is only an idea.Whenwe reach it, it is thepresent. We can only ever experience the now, sowemustmake each “now” count.

This year, make the effort to create ameaningful “now” each daywith kindness.Workmay feellike it is something that happens in between our “real life”, but it can give us purpose, comfort, connection, and support. Make the effort to really lean in this year andmake yourworkmatterto yourself and your colleagues.

MINDFULNESS Mindfulnessmeansmaintaining amoment-by-moment awareness ofour thoughts, feelings, bodilysensations, and surroundingenvironment. Mindfulness involvesacceptance, meaning that we payattention to our thoughts andfeelings without judging them;without believing, for instance, thatthere’s a “right” or “wrong” way tothink or feel in a givenmoment.Whenwe practicemindfulness, ourthoughts tune in towhat we’resensing in the presentmomentrather than rehashing the past orimagining the future.

KINDNESS Did you know there are scientificallyproven benefits of being kind?

The positive effects of kindness areexperienced in the brain of everyonewhowitnessed the act, improvingtheirmood andmaking themsignificantlymore likely to “pay itforward.” Thismeans one good deedin a crowded area can create adomino effect and improve the day ofdozens of people!

Thismonth, celebrate RandomActsof KindnessWeek (February 13-19)and reap some of those benefits foryour team.

CARING FORTHEENVIRONMENT Wedo not inherit the earth fromourancestors; we borrow it fromourchildren. Many of us are familiar withthis proverb, but whatmeaning doeach of us give to it? The easiest wayfor each of us to live within this“motto” is to think of thosewhowillcome after us and intentionallychoose not tomake amess in any ofour environments. If it is possible, weshouldmake any areawe can betterfor thosewho follow in our footsteps. This concept can be applied to ournatural environments, as well as ourschool, work, and homeenvironments, alongwith any areawespend timewhere others willeventually follow.

INCLUSIVENESS Imagine a placewhere everyone feelswelcome and can be themselves nomatter their shape, size, or color. It’snot impossible, but it takes a lot ofintention.

However, intentional changes towardcreating amore inclusive workplacecan lead to powerful cultural shifts inorganizations: It creates a safe spaceso everyone can bring their whole selfto work, no longer needing to censoror hide parts of themselves.

This leads to greater productivity, creativity, and connectionwithcolleagues and your organizationalpurpose."

INSPIRATION Noonewants towork in anenvironment that is stressful or hastoo serious amindset. Employeeswho are allowed to venture out, worktogether with other co-workers, andwander throughout their workplaceto seewhat other things are going onwill allow for ideas and inspiration toflow freely.

Ideas to consider:

• Create a fun teamenvironment.

• Spice up your office décor.

• Take risks and be okaywith failure.

• Allow flexible work schedules.

• Provide a space for knowledgesharing.
