AttireJackets will be worn for the hunter and equitation classes in the show rings. Riders will be allowed to show in tucked in polo shirts in the jumper rings. The classics and mini-prixrequire formal attire.

Non-Showing HorseHorses or ponies not showing will be charged $25 per show day fee.

Non-Negotiable ChecksChecks returned by the bank for any reason will be assessed a penalty of $30 or 10% of the check amount, whichever is greater. Upon notification of a returned check, accounts will be given three (3) days to make full payment, including the penalty, which must be paid in certified funds, cashiers check or money order. Overnight mail service is advised in order to avoid notification of the sanctioning organizations for disciplinary action.

Motorized Vehicles/Golf CartsUnlicensed drivers are not permitted to operate any motorized vehicles, ATV’s, motorcycles,golf carts, etc., on the show grounds. Failure to abide by these regulations will subject the exhibitor to suspension from the horse show.

ParkingFire regulations prohibit all vehicles, including trailers, vans and campers, from being parked in the stable areas. Vans and trailers will be allowed in the stable area only to load or unload. PARKING AREAS WILL BE DESIGNATED AND VIOLATORS WILL BE TOWED AWAY AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.

Protective HeadgearAll exhibitors must wear ASTM approved protective headgear with harnesssecured and properly fitted while riding in the designated schooling and exerciseareas, the show ring and while jumping anywhere on the show grounds. The sanctioning association encourages all riders to wear protective headgear passing or surpassing applicable ASTM standards with harness secured while riding anywhere on the show grounds. It is the responsibility of the rider, parents, guardian, or trailer of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards and is properly fitted and in good condition.

Minor ExhibitorsParent(s) or guardian(s) or a minor child shall hold the horse show management and the facility harmless for any injury to such minor. No minor child’s entry will be accepted,or number issued unless a parent or legal guardian signs the entry. The signature of unrelated persons WILL NOT be accepted.

DogsPer Town of Tryon: All dogs must be under control at all times and on a leash no longer than 10 feet while on the show grounds. Unrestrained dogs create a serious safety hazard for exhibitors and their horses. Loose dogs will not be tolerated in the show ring area. They will be impounded and the owner will be charged a $100 fine added to their entry fee, which will be donated to the Foothills Humane Society.

EntriesIn order for stalls to be held, full payment must follow stall reservations. No stabling reservations will be held without payment. Stalls will be available on a first-come,first-serve basis. (By the date the check is received or the postmark on the envelope.)

Numbers will not be issued without a SIGNED OPEN CHECK lodged with the horse show secretary. The entry form must include:

• All classes or divisions entered• All mandatory signatures, including legal guardian in the case of a minor exhibiting• Organization membership numbers• Social Security or Federal ID number of owner

Every class offered herein, which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current Sanctioning Assoc., will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.

StablingStalls with doors are available. Initial bedding will not be provided.

DamageAll owners and exhibitors shall be held responsible for any damage incurred by them, their agents or employees to stalls, buildings, and other properties on the show grounds, and shall be billed accordingly. (This includes screw eyes or nails in stalls.)

RefundsFull refunds will be given before the closing date for the stalls. After the closing dateof stalls, stall fees are not refundable. After the show starts, with the official vet’scertificate only, full refund will be given minus a $15 scratch fee and fees for the classes already held prior to notification of the horse show secretary, whether exhibited or not. Scratches must be made in the horse show office on the official form. Refunds will be mailed within 30 days after the horse show.

LungingNo lunging permitted in the show rings or schooling areas. Lunging only in designated areas.

SchoolingSchooling in the show rings without permission is prohibited at all times. $100 fine for anyone caught in the rings before of after the show if rings have been closed. Some rings will be available in the morning until 30 minutes before start time. Management may restrict schooling in any ring if conditions warrant.

Labor Day Show Featured ClassesClass #400: $3500 BRHJA Hunter Derby/Non-ProClass Conditions: The first round to be conducted over an elaborate course of jumps resembling the hunt field. Will include verticals and oxers. The top 12 scores will bereturning for a second round to be held over a Handy course, which may include rollbacks,bending lines, Hand Gallops, and a trot or walk jump. Open numeric scoring will be used on both rounds. Scores from both rounds will be combined. Rider with the highest combined score wins class. Offered at 2’6” and 3’. Open to all horses and ponies that have been entered and shown at the show. Riders must be a BRHJA Member to compete in this Derby. Minimum15 entries required to fill.

Entry Fee: $95 Ribbons 1-10 – 1st $380 • 2nd $290 • 3rd $190 • 4th $180 • 5th $165 6th $135 • 7th $125 • 8th $110 • 9th $100 • 10th $75

Class #300: $2500 Jumper ClassicClass Conditions: To be shown over an elaborated course under the USEF Jumper Table II.2B format. Fence heights 1.30m – 1.35m. Posted order of go. Formal attire.Open to riders that have been entered and shown at the show. Minimum 10 entriesrequired to fill.

Entry Fee: $125 Ribbons 1-10 – 1st $500 • 2nd $350 • 3rd $300 • 4th $275 • 5th $250 6th $200 • 7th $180 • 8th $160 • 9th $150 • 10th $135

Class #800: $1500 SCHJA Palmetto DerbyClass Conditions: The first round to be conducted over an elaborate course of jumpsresembling the Hunt Field. All horses are required to be on the competition showgrounds 12 hours prior to the start of the class. Two sections offered but will be pinned as one class. The first section is restricted to Non Pro Riders and is set at 2’9. The second section is unrestricted and is offered at 3’ The 2’9 section will go first in the first round. Course to include four (4) high options set at 3’ for the restricted section and 3’3 for the unrestricted section. Full specs for this class can be found on the South Carolina website at www.schja.com. A minimum of 10 horses must be entered for the class to fill. Class #700: $1000 Pink Day Amateur Hunt & Go DerbyClass Conditions: Open to Amateur and Junior riders only. This class will be held underthe USHJA “Hunt & Go” format. In this format ALL riders compete in both phases.The first phase is the “Classic Phase” and the second phase is the “Handy Phase”.All entries will complete both the Classic and Handy phases even if penalties (rails,refusals, etc.) are incurred. Major penalties such as falls, 3 refusals, off course, etc., will result in elimination. The Classic phase consists of 7-8 fences and will be judged onquality, movement, jumping styles, manners, and way of going. After the Classic phase,all entries must pass through a set of markers to begin the Handy portion of the class. The Handy phase consists of 5-8 jumps and shall be judged on handiness, quality,movement, jumping style, manners, and way of going. ALL Entry Fees received will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
