IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Applicants should be confident that the information provided is sufficient to meet the offsetrequirements and deliver employment outcomes before submitting an application.It is important for applicants to understand that in order for a project to be found suitablefor funding, the information provided in the application must demonstrate, with supportingevidence, that the strict criteria associated with the delivery of environmental offset projectshas been met. This is due to the regulatory requirements relating to the offset conditionsfrom which the funding has been sourced.For example, the applicant must provide evidence that the project will be protected inperpetuity, appropriate baseline information (e.g. vegetation type, vegetation condition, soiltype etc.) has been provided which informed the revegetation (e.g. appropriate species, siteworks etc.) or rehabilitation actions proposed with adequate monitoring to demonstrate thesuccessful offset outcomes.Creating jobs for vulnerable communities in COVID-19 impacted regions through theimplementation of on-ground projects is another key deliverable of this program. Applicantsshould ensure new jobs are created for unemployed people, rather than just seeking fundsto pay a contractor to undertake the work. For example, could a contractor undertake asupervisory role with paid trainees undertaking the work. Funds for training can also berequested to meet employment outcomes.
