His brother, Makai Ashton-Langford, tallied 10 points, six rebounds and three assists. CLEMSON: Junior guard Al-Amir Dawes scored 21 points, 16 of which came in the second half, Tuesday against Presbyterian. He knocked down four 3-pointers and was 3-for-3 at the free throw line. DUKE: Freshmen Trevor Keels (25) and Paolo Banchero (22) led Duke in their Tuesday win over Kentucky. The only other time multiple Duke freshmen scored 20+ points in their debut game was Nov. 6, 2018 vs. Kentucky (RJ Barrett 33, Zion Williamson 28, Cam Reddish 22). FLORIDA STATE: Redshirt senior forward Malik Osborne had a team-high 18 points and 13 rebounds in season-opening victory against Penn. The performance marked Osborne’s fourth career double-double and his FSU career high in scoring. GEORGIA TECH: Junior center Rodney Howard estab- lished career high in points (10) and rebounds (13) Tues- day against Miami (Ohio) for his first career double-double. LOUISVILLE: Senior guard Noah Locke finished with 16 points and four rebounds Tuesday in his Louisville debut. The 16 points are tied for 11th-most all-time by a player making his UofL debut. MIAMI: Graduate guard Kameron McGusty started the season off with a big outing against Canisius, posting his third career double-double with 20 points and 10 boards (matching a career high). He was 8-of-14 from the floor. NORTH CAROLINA: Sophomore guard Caleb Love (22) scored 20-plus points for the third time as a Tar Heel on Tuesday against Loyola (Md.). He had 25 at Duke and 20 against Wake Forest as a freshman. NC STATE: Freshman guard Terquavion Smith poured in 20 points in the Tuesday win over Bucknell. The 20 points are the fifth-most by a freshman in his program debut in NC State history. Smith added a game-high four steals. NOTRE DAME: Senior guard Prentiss Hubb leads all returning ACC players in career assists with 445, which is the fifth-most for any active NCAA player entering his fourth season of action. PITT: John Hugley (27) and Femi Odukale (20) became the first pair of Pitt players to top the 20-point mark in the season opener since Michael Young and Jamel Artis accomplished that feat to open the 2016-17 season. Notre Dame begins its season Saturday afternoon at home against Cal State Northridge. • Four ACC teams were ranked nationally in the pre- season Associated Press Top 25 poll: Duke (9), North Carolina (19), Florida State (20) and Virginia (25). NOTING ACC MEN'S BASKETBALLAll-Time Success• Current league members have won nearly 25,000 games and have had 814 NBA Draft picks, including 277 first-round selections.• All 15 league members have 1,000 or more all-time wins, including eight schools with 1,500 or more victories.

NCAA Tournament Success• Teams currently in the ACC have combined to win three of the last six NCAA National Championships, eight of the last 20 crowns and 17 overall.• North Carolina leads the way with six national titles. Duke is next with five, followed by Louisville (2), NC State (2), Syracuse (1) and Virginia (1).• With 643 wins among its 15 current members, the ACC is the all-time winningest conference in the NCAA Tour-nament. The ACC also has the highest NCAA Tournament winning percentage (.616).• The ACC is 78-42 (.650) in NCAA Tournament play over the last six tournaments (2015-19, ‘21). The 78 wins are 20 more than any other conference.

Elite Coaches• The ACC’s 15 head coaches have combined for more than 6,000 career wins as well as seven national cham-pionships. • Three current league coaches have won national titles – Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski (5), Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim (1) and Virginia’s Tony Bennett (1)• The ACC features two of the eight active coaches that are in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame - Krzyzewski and Boeheim. All-Americans• Since 1981, the ACC has produced 52 consensus All-Americans – more than any other conference – and has accounted for 22.6 percent of the nation’s consensus All-Americans (52 of 230).

ACC and the NBA• The ACC led all conferences with 89 alumni on 2021 NBA Opening Night rosters. That is the most of any conference. Duke led all ACC programs with 24, while North Carolina had 12 and North Carolina and Virginia each had eight.• During the 2020-21 season, 91 players from ACC schools played in NBA regular-season games, most of any conference. • Duke led all schools nationally with 28 alumni in NBA action last season, while North Carolina had 12. ACC, BIG TEN & PAC-12 ANNOUNCE ALLIANCE• On Aug. 24, the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 announced an historic alliance that brings 41 world-class institutions together on a collaborative approach surrounding the future evolution of college athletics and scheduling. The alliance – which was unani-mously supported by the presidents, chancellors and athletics directors at all 41 institutions – will be guided in all cases by a commitment to, and prioritization of, supporting student-athlete well-being, academic and athletic opportunities, experiences and diverse educational programming. The three conferences are grounded in their support of broad-based athletic programs, the collegiate model and opportunities for student-athletes as part of the educational missions of the institutions.

• The ACC is scheduled to play 21 regular-season games this year against Big Ten and Pac-12 programs in 2021-22, with the potential for more matchups during exempt tournaments.
