General Information* All shipments are FOB, Hamilton, NJ or Deer Park, NY.* Please call 1-800-289-1836 for your nearest Sales Representative.* All items sent back to Merlin will require a Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) Number and must be sent freight prepaid. Any item sent back to Merlin without an RGA Number or not freight prepaid WILL BE REFUSED.* All prices are subject to change without notice.* Any product returned to Merlin for any reason is subject to a 15% restocking fee and must be returned in new condition. Safety Covers* All safety cover pricing includes the following:stainless steel springs, spring covers, tamping tool, installation tool, allen wrench, stainless steel buckles, cover storage bag, and brass anchors with slot and hex heads.* Solid covers will have the choice of an automatic cover pump or window mesh drain panel.* Solid cover pricing is with a mesh drain panel; add $285.00 to RETAIL for the automatic cover pump.* To determine the price for pools with multilevel decks, raised beams, rocks, waterfalls, or any other unusual feature, we will require a detailed plan and photographs.* Rectangular-style covers for pools under 1,200 sq. ft. typically have 5x5 spacing and a 12 inch overlap; 3x3 spacing is also available.* Rectangular-style covers for pools between 1,200 and 2,000 square feet have a 15 inch overlap and can have 5x5 pacing, although 3x3 spacing is highly recommended.* Freeform covers and covers for pools over 2,000 sq. ft. are only available in 3x3 spacing with an 18 inch overlap per side (3x3 spacing recommended for solid covers over 800 sq. ft. pool size).* Covers over 2,000 square feet are only made in mesh material.* 5x5 spacing can range from 4 feet to 6 feet, 3x3 spacing can range from 2 feet to 4 feet.* Merlin Professional Safety Covers meet or exceed ASTM standards ES 1346-91 for Safety Covers when properly installed.* Step location, True L bend, Lazy L bend or any other pool reference (right or left) is determined by standing at the DEEP END of the pool, facing the shallow end.

Vinyl Liners* Unless otherwise requested, all liners will be manufactured in 20 mil material and beaded with standard Merlin Bead. * Our material is 100% North American made; we do not purchase offshore vinyl.* 20 and 27 mil in-ground liners have a 20 year warranty, Aqua-Max liners have a 25 year warranty.* On 2020-2021 warranty claims, Merlin offers up to a $500 water and labor allowance for the first 2 years. * Extended water and labor contracts are available; call for details.* The default material for vinyl covered steps is the same pattern as the liner bottom pattern. You must indicate your choice on your order if it is not the liner bottom pattern. (Example: Tex Step material or a solid color vinyl.)* If no fiberglass step location or wall seam location is noted on your order, Merlin will default to the center of the shallow end when possible. Please note that a liner may have more than one wall seam.* Regulations require a safety information package be shipped with every liner, the cost is $28.33 retail.

SmartMeshTM CoversSmartMeshTM covers are constructed with a patented mesh which provides 100% shade without the weight associated with solid covers. SmartMeshTM is available only from Merlin Industries, Inc. * SmartMeshTM covers are available in Green, Blue, Tan and Gray. * SmartMeshTM is 40% lighter than solid material. * SmartMeshTM Covers filter down to an average particle size of 40 microns.Proper winterizing chemicals should still be added for maximum algae protection.SmartmeshTM Patent Number US 6,886,187-100% Shade Mesh)Dura-Mesh II CoversMerlin Dura-Mesh II Safety Covers consist of specially formulated polypropylene and nylon 2-ply webbing interconnected with a chemically and heat treated tentered 6.4 oz. polypropylene mesh. The webbing is connected to a stainless steel high tension spring with stainless steel loop buckle. The webbing is anchored to the deck by solid brass thread-type anchors. * Dura-Mesh II covers are available in Green, Black, Blue, Tan and Gray. * Dura-Mesh II is 33% thicker and on average 68% stronger than standard mesh covers.Advanced Grade Mesh CoversMerlin Advanced Grade Mesh is constructed of 7.6 oz. polypropylene mesh (compared to 6.4 oz. of our Dura-Mesh II cover) and has a tighter weave than the Dura-Mesh II. * The Advanced Grade Mesh Cover is available in Black.Classic Mesh (Economy Cover)Classic mesh covers have the precise fit and finish we are known for without the upgraded materials of our other covers. *Classic Mesh is an entry level safety cover and is available in Green.Solid XLS & Kaleidoscapes! CoversThe Solid Safety Cover has the same basic design as the Mesh cover; the difference is the cover material. The Solid XLS cover is constructed of 11.5 oz. vinyl coated polyester material, interconnected to the webbing in the same manner as the mesh cover. (Kaleidoscapes! Solids are constructed from 15 oz. vinyl laminate material.) * The Merlin Solid Cover requires either an automatic pump or a mesh drain panel to remove water from the surface of the cover. Covers with Pump add $285.00 to Retail. * A $231.00 charge will be added for solid covers with drain panels when the cover size is under 200 Sq. Ft. * The Merlin Solid Cover is available in Royal Blue, Forest Green, Tan or Gray with no upcharge. * The Merlin Solid Cover stretches taut across the pool; it does not rest on top of the water.

Warranty InformationMerlin Safety covers come with the longest warranties in the industry:Our SmartMeshTM cover has a 15-Year Limited Prorated Warranty.Our DuraMesh II cover has a 15-Year Limited Prorated Warranty.Our Classic Mesh cover has a 8-Year Limited Prorated Warranty.Our Solid XLS and Kaleidoscapes! covers have a 10-Year Limited Prorated Warranty.Our Advanced Grade Mesh cover has a 20-Year Limited Prorated Warranty.Our Pool Guard Solid Cover has a 10-Year Limited Prorated Warranty.The first 2 years are fully covered, and after the second year, the warranty is pro-rated on a monthly basis except Classic Mesh. Classic mesh is prorated after 1 year.These warranties apply strictly to defects in the cover materials, or defects associated with the manufacturing of the cover.The following items are NOT covered under warranty: * Damage caused by animals walking or chewing on the cover. * Sharp objects piercing the cover. * Damage caused by insects, rodents or any animal. * A rectangular cover covering anything but a rectangular pool. * A cover designed for a larger pool covering a smaller pool. * Water level not maintained between 6” - 18” from bottom of cover. * Abrasion caused by pool coping or deck, excessive snow loads, or excessive wind moving the cover. This is also known as “coping wear”, and Merlin can provide extra padding materials to help prevent this.

Merlin Safety Covers are not considered stock unless they meet the following criteria:* Cover spacing is 5’x5’ with 12” overlap, except 25x50 (5’x5’,15” overlap) and 30x60 (5’x5’,18” overlap).* Stock Solid Covers have a choice of a Mesh Drain Panel or an Automatic Pump. Retail Solid Cover prices below are for Solid Covers with Drain Panel. For covers with Automatic Pump, add $285.00 to retail price.* Stock Covers with steps have a step size of 4’ x 8’ unless otherwise noted. Please contact a Merlin Cus-tomer Service Representative or fax in a drawing including the step and deck dimensions to ensure a proper fit.* Stock pricing is for covers shipped straight off the shelf. Orders for stock covers with hardware changes will incur additional charges.

These instructions have been included in this guidebook to help you price a safety cover yourself. It is only meant as a guide to help you get a rough idea of what a particular cover will cost. When quoting your customer a firm price, please fax or e-mail Merlin for an exact quote from our Customer Service Department. Merlin will gladly quote any size or shape. For a firm quote, please use a Merlin Professional Safety Cover Order Form.

All measurements 3” and higher are rounded up to the next foot for quoting purposes.Example: 16’3” is rounded to 17’, then add overlap for cover.

Include all extensions in length and width measurements. Example: A cover for this Kidney in Dura-Mesh II with 3x3 spacing. 18 x 36 pool size equals 21 x 39 cover size, which equals 819 sq. ft. 819 sq. ft. x $3.50 = $2,866.50 retail price.

Use Rectangular Pricing:If the difference between the two end walls of the pool is less than 6 feet, use the larger end wall to figure your square footage like a normal rectangle. If the difference between the two end walls of the pool is 6’ or greater, use the average of the two walls to figure your square footage. Example: A cover for this wedge shape pool in Dura-Mesh II with 5x5 spacing and 12” overlap. 10+20=30 divide by 2 = 15, 15 x 32 pool size equals 17 x 34 cover size, which equals 578 sq. ft., 578 sq. ft. x $2.71 = $1,566.38 + $270.00 (2 Full length wedge cuts) = $1,836.38 retail price.

3x3 Spacing: Create two rectangles within the lazy L shape as shown on the right. Add 2 ft to the longest length and widest width of both rectangles. Add sq. ft. of each rectangle together for total square footage. Example: A cover for the lazy L at the right in Dura-Mesh II with 3x3 spacing. Two rectangles or pool size 16x28 and 16x18. Repair Policies


Repairs are estimated and billed on an hourly schedule.

All covers submitted to Merlin for repair will automatically be fixed and charged for work completed if the total cost of the repairs is $408.33 retail or less. If the charges will be greater than $408.33 retail, a cover Repair Quote will be issued to you so that you may decide whether to repair the cover.*There is no warranty, expressed or implied, that a repaired cover will meet ASTM Standards.

Before an item can be returned, you must:

1. Remove the springs (There is a 1 hour charge if springs are not removed)2. Clean cover of debris and dirt ($125 charge for dirty cover)3. Dry Cover ($125 charge for wet cover)4. Fill out the Merlin Repair/Remake Worksheet (on page 19) in its entirety. 5. Fax the completed form to Merlin Industries. 800-289-9591.6. A box label will be faxed back to you with an assigned RGA number.7. Pack up the item, making sure it is clearly tagged with your name, the job name and the RGA number.8. Replacing a Non-Merlin Safety Cover

Hardware Credit on Remakes

When a pool has an existing cover that needs to be replaced, we call this a remake cover. Generally, remakes are easier for the dealer because a lot of the work has already been done. If you need a remake cover, we will need the following information.

1. Cover Serial Number (for Merlin covers only)If you can supply us with the serial number of the cover, in most cases we will have records of the manufacturing specifications of that cover which we can use to remake the cover.2. The Old Cover (springs must be removed)If the serial number is unreadable, and we have no other way to identify the cover, sending the old cover back to Merlin is the next best way for us to make the cover. We will use the old cover as a template, so that all the straps will line up with the existing anchor holes.3. A-B MeasurementsIf the existing cover cannot be sent back to Merlin, the only way we will be able to remake this cover to match the existing anchors is with A-B measurements. Even for simple rectangles, you will need to A-B the pool AND the existing anchors USING THE SAME A-B LINE.

*DO NOT use a separate A-B line for the pool and the anchors it will render the measurements useless.

General InformationAll Merlin Liners are made of 100% NORTH AMERICAN MADE Virgin Vinyl, formulated and treated for extra Ultraviolet protection and conditioned with antibacterial agents to help prevent staining. We DO NOT purchase offshore material. Our production process is computer controlled, with advanced state-of-the-art CAD design systems and automatic com-puterized cutting machines. Our highly automated process ensures you of quality manufacturing with extremely small tolerances and maximum speed efficiency. Merlin 20 and 27 mil liners have a 20 year pro-rated warranty.

Aqua-MAX VinylFinally an upgrade to standard vinyl liners, Aqua-MAX vinyl provides added bleach, chemical, heat, U.V. and fade resis-tance. Aqua-MAX also provides more than double the antifungal and antibacterial protection of a standard liner. Aqua-MAX is truly a more pool owner-friendly vinyl liner! Aqua-MAX vinyl is 20 mil . Merlin’s Safe n’ Secure Safety Fence is a great way to section off a portion of a yard or area. Designed as a temporary fence, it can be easily set up or taken down in minutes. For pool owners, it serves as another layer of protection for families in the pool area - keeping small children and pets away from the water’s edge. The custom design gives you flexibility to wrap the fence around any shape from simple rectangles to massive multi-radius freeforms. The fence stands 4 feet high with poles every 3 feet. In stock fence is available in black mesh and sold in 3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 foot sections. Section end poles are installed 2’’ on center apart.
