Impression 5’s L.A.B.S. Camps are developed with your child’s curiosity in mind. Our camps offer opportunities to play, create, and challenge your child’s understanding of scientific concepts through interactive projects and experiments. All age-specific camps are designed to encourage children to make fun, lasting, and meaningful connections to science.

Scholarships are available for all Summer L.A.B.S. Camps. For more information on how to apply, contact us at (517) 485-8116, ext. 132.

Extreme EnergyWednesday, September 2We’re taking science to the extreme in this day of energy-filled fun! Explore the power of kinetic energy, build an electric circuit, and discover how to harness the power of sustainable energy sources!

Do Try this at HomeThursday, September 3Come conduct experiments you can modify and recreate at home! We’ll try our hands at some kitchen chemistry, dive into density, and create static electricity! Science is all around us—especially at home!

Get Soaked Up!Friday, September 4Expect to get more than a little wet while challenging your understanding of one of our most important resources: water! Engage in hands-on experiences and learn about the water cycle, properties of liquids, and water-based art.

Towers & FortsMonday, June 29 Let your imagination soar as you challenge the forces of tension and compression to build truly epic towers! We’ll end the day on a high note with a life-size fort-building extravaganza!

Colorific ScienceTuesday, June 30Discover the science of colors as you make your own rainbow, create a colorful masterpiece, and experiment with color mixing!

Sunsational ScienceWednesday, July 1Learn the science behind the sun and UV rays through hands-on experimentation. Create sun prints, design an operational solar oven, and discover how sunscreen really works!

Inside OutThursday, July 2Come take a look inside things like computers, golf balls, and more to discover how they’re made and what makes them work!

Throwing ThingsFriday, July 3Whether we’re throwing, flinging, or slinging objects through the air, investigate the science of projectiles as you’re challenged to improve your aim, speed, and maximum distance.

Ready, Set, Race!Monday, August 24 Learn how to race with smarts by experimenting with friction, speed, and weight. Design your own model car and test it for speed. Join us for a friendly competition in the name of science!

LEGO® BuilderTuesday, August 25Unleash your creativity designing and building with LEGO®s! You’ll create totally unique constructions, prototype the fastest LEGO® cars, and build the strongest structure of the day!

Mission ImpossibleWednesday, August 26Calling all spy agents-in-training! Create your disguise and go undercover as we solve mysteries at your Science Center. You’ll use spy gadgets, decipher a secret message, and analyze evidence. It’s up to you, Agent, to solve the case!

GeocachingThursday, August 27Geocaches are small containers hidden all over the world and found via global positioning systems. Learn how to navigate your way to a nearby cache using satellite information, and create your own cache for others to find!

Crack the CodeFriday, August 28From complex computer scripts to secret messages to your own DNA, codes are all around us! Come learn the fundamentals of programming and turn everyday objects into your own interactive playground!

Potato Chip ScienceMonday, August 31Join us as we discover the experimental fun behind empty chip bags, potatoes, and, of course, potato chips! We’ll make a battery out of a potato and test the pH levels of various kinds of chips!

Experience Summer L.A.B.S. Camps for ages 11-14 in our youth maker space, Think Tank!

Geared toward older learners, these camps are an exclusive opportunity to mix your imagination with your ingenuity to make real things using real tools!

Make with WoodJune 8–12Sawing, drilling, and nailing are all on the docket in this camp! Learn the skills necessary to build with wood and make things like marble mazes, boxes, and a candy dispenser!

Slime EntrepreneurJune 15–19Create your own unique polymers, slimes, and floam while studying chemical reactions! Learn how to start your own slime business, design your own packaging, and advertise!

Inked Up!June 22–26Practice stamp-making and embossing, screen print your logo on a t-shirt or bag, make temporary tattoos, and more! Dive in deep toall things ink and embrace the mess in this camp!

Science VloggingJuly 6–10Join us to get hands-on experience using recording equipment and video-editing software! Invent a persona and practice your video-making technique!

Renewable ElectriCITYJuly 13–17Work together to build a city and overcome challenges to its growth. Learn how renewable energy can power your city with sun, wind, and water!

Ultimate Video GamesJuly 20–24Throughout the week, you’ll plan, design, and develop a video game in the Unity game engine. At the end of the week, you can show off your game in our video game showcase!

Pinball & ArcadeJuly 27–31Learn about the science behind pinball and other arcade machines! Explore launchers, integrate lighting, and showcase your own creation by turning Think Tank into an arcade!

Escape ArtistAugust 3–7Got what it takes to escape? Throughout the week, you’ll visit a local escape room, solve and build puzzles of your own, then work with your group to design an escape room for others to solve!

Turn it Up!August 10–14Learn the science of sound and use it to build an instrument! Write your own theme song and program it into a circuit board. Build a speaker, wire it up, and create housing for your boom box to blast your song!

Hidden ElectricityAugust 17–21Learn how to use electricity and magnetism to make circuits that communicate with each other. Practice your engineering design skills to hide your circuits and make your projects look like magic!
