WHCP and the Empowerment Center Launch “Cambridge Youth Radio Project”
As many of you know, much of WHCP’s studio equipment was donated by public radio stations around the country. And in one instance, the Australian
Broadcast Corporation’s Washington Bureau donated the studio furniture that volunteer carpenter Jack Rupertus modified as a stand up studio for use in Bruce Patrick’s “Studio B”. They also donated a small audio mixer that still works and that we are wiring to repurpose as a “Youth Radio” studio at the Empowerment Center. A computer donated to WHCP by Purdue of Salisbury has open source recording and editing software installed, and there will be an input for using mobile phone and laptops to pull music from their personal libraries.
