Dock Levelers
When unloading trailers with a self supported loading dock the vertical motion of the trailer must be addressed. An integral dock leveler is the best solution that will float with the trailer bed and allow for end loading or full trailer loading.
• Do you have power nearby to allow for hydraulic pushbutton operation?
• How many trailers per week?– 0- 5 Low Volume (fixed lip or EOD)– 6-25 Typical Volume (Any)– 26+ High Volume (Hydraulic Pit Leveler)
• Strongly recommend Dok-Lok• What trailers will be using the dock? - This will determine
leveler style and ramp adjustability needs– 53’ Over the Road Box Trailers (bed heights 46”-52”)– Intermodal Containers (bed heights 48”-56”)– Pick up trucks (32”-42”)– Drop Deck Flatbeds (32”-36”)– Standard Flatbeds (48”-56”)– Other________________

The inside clear width of any ramp or dock must be reviewed vs. the overall width of the product or vehicles that will use the ramp.• Product to be loaded?
– Measure outside width of forklift, vehicle, equipment or product to be loaded?• 96” clear (102” overall) -Standard• 114” clear (120” overall) –wideload shipping req’d• 138” clear (143” overall)- wideload shipping req’d
• How many trailers per week will be loaded? If high volume, consider giving forklift driver more room to maneuver and allow for trailers to be off center
