2020 Conservation Mini-Grant
Franklin Soil and Water’s annual ConservationMini-Grant program offers up to $2000 tothree non-profits that demonstrate the needand ability to carry out on-the-groundconservation projects. Nearly 30 organizations have been awarded fullor partial funding since 2013. Remaining fundsare utilized throughout the year by Franklin Soiland Water for projects and programs, manytimes in coordination with partners. The Mini-Grant program is supported theDistrict’s Conservation Fund, a pool ofoperational fees and proceeds from fund-raisingevents including its Annual Meeting and TreeSale.
Conservation Mini-Grant ProgramSummary
Franklin County, Ohio non-profitorganizations such as schools,watershed groups,municipalities, communitygroups (including governingbodies and associations such asHOAs and condo associations)and civic associations may apply.

This is a competitive grant.Applicants score based on theirproject's relative strength andadherence to "Ranking & Criteria"metrics, listed above. We regret that not all applicantswill receive funding. However, inmost cases, technical assistance isavailable regardless of awardgranted.

2020 Conservation Mini-Grant
Only one application per organization is accepted,and previously-awarded groups may not apply inconsecutive years. Funds must be used by the year’send, though the project can be completed anytimethroughout the year. Funds are issued on a reimbursement basis, withdocumentation (receipts, photos, etc) of workcompleted. Acceptable expenses may include supplies and toolsfor project implementation and signage or outreachmaterials. The cost of these materials may notexceed more than 20 percent of the total fundsrequested. Grant recipients must review and sign our GrantAgreement, provide progress updates and finalreports, and host a final site visit upon projectcompletion. Grant proposals are reviewed by Franklin Soil andWater staff with final approval of the Director andBoard of Supervisors.Previously completed projects are ineligible. Grantfunding cannot be applied towards design andconsulting fees, research, administration, or food.
