We also want to thank our wonderful donors, season sponsors, and purchasers of program ads.

Please visit those businesses whose ads you see here and let them know you appreciate their support of the arts!

YOU, for being in our audience - with an extra special thanks to our season ticket holders!

And thanks to YOU, Rover Dramawerks has been named the Best Theatre Company in Plano THREE years in a row!

You know all about Gray Thursday (Thanksgiving), Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Sofa Sunday, and Cyber Monday...but do you know about GIVING TUESDAY?

Join Rover Dramawerks for Giving Tuesday on November 27, 2018! We’ll have a fundraiser set up on Facebook, and our goal is $2,000. Every little bit helps!

We are a nonprofit theatre company that has been providing unique plays over the past 18 years in Plano and North Texas, and we would love your continued support going into our 19th season! Performances range from adults to children, and all the actors and actresses have to do is audition. (All adult actors receive stipends, and at Rover, there’s no tuition for children to perform!)

We hope you’ll join us on Giving Tuesday. Let’s end this year with a bang!

About the Play

Young Lord Arthur is deliriously happy – just down from Oxford and engaged to be married – when a mysterious palm reader predicts that he will commit a murder. A proper English gentleman, Arthur believes it is his

duty to get this killing business over with before he marries. But his education has not provided him with the required skills, and a hilarious

series of mishaps ensues as he sets about finding a victim. Based on the Oscar Wilde short story, "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime."

There will be one 15-minute intermission.

Who's Who Anya Almand is an 8th grade student. Anya is big fan of art, computers, and theater and has goals to work at Pixar one day. In addition to her Mom and Dad, she has two little sisters, a dog named Leo, and a 3 footed cat named Jet. Mildred Austin joins Rover Dramawerks for the second time, having appeared in the one-woman show Grace Hopper Revisited, presented as part of the 365 Women a Year playwriting project last spring. After many years away from theatre and acting, showing dogs all over the US, she loves the challenge of bringing her first love back to life! Other recent shows include Grandmomma in A Moment in the Life of Willa Dee Arthur, Mrs. Pentrano in And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little, Dot Haigler in The Savannah Sipping Society, and Julia in Lend Me a Tenor. She admits, however, this current production has not only provided her a wonderfully funny role and a great cast, director and stage manager to work with, but also the most gorgeous costumes she’s had to wear in all her character roles! Pælor Cuihn is an actor, singer, musician and composer. He studied music composition and vocal performance at Texas Tech University and music composition, vocal performance, and acting at the University of North Texas. He has played a range of roles from Seymour Krelborn in Little Shop of Horrors to Judge Brack in Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabbler. In Rover’s 2017 production of Sherlock Holmes and the West End Horror, Pælor enjoyed playing six supporting roles, from a surly Bram Stoker to a flamboyant W.S. Gilbert of Gilbert & Sullivan to… well… Eliza Doolittle. Emily Grove recently moved to the DFW area and is excited to make her Rover Dramawerks debut. A graduate from the Barter Players at Barter Theatre in Abingdon, VA, Emily has worked the past 3 years in Greenville, SC at the Greenville Little Theatre and The Warehouse Theatre. Favorite shows include: Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins), Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Little Women (Jo March), and The Wind Farmer (Ramona). She would like to thank the 4Gs for making the trek to Plano, and Sam for his patience and support through this rehearsal process. Kenneth Hall is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, with a degree in Theatrical Production. At SFA, he did everything from set and sound design to shop work and running shows. Since then, he has run two shows at Dallas Children's Theatre: Miracle on 34th Street and the world premiere of Skippyjon Jones, as well as several shows here at Rover, including Charley’s Aunt, Smoke & Mirrors, Love, Lies & the Doctor’s Dilemma, Dear Delinquent, Suite Surrender and Move Over Mrs. Markham, among others. He's grateful for the opportunity to help out again. It has been a pleasure having Sarah Eckberg Hearn bring her costume stylings to Murder on West Moon Street. She states that she was honored to be a part of the production team for the show. She enjoyed watching the actors and actresses bring the story to life. “Thank you to Rover Dramawerks for bringing quality drama to the stage.” David Johnston has enjoyed being a part of the DFW Community Theatre scene for over 6 years. He has done everything from behind the curtains to a little acting as well. David has done Audio Design for fan favorites A Greater Tuna and A Tuna Christmas. He has worked with director Chad Jones in other productions and is extremely happy to be a part of Chad's directing debut. David would like to thank his beautiful wife of over 10 years, Lee Anne, for her continued love and support.

Delirium’s Daughters May 2-15 by Nicholas Korn, directed by Carol M. Rice Comedy/Farce When suitors arrive to ask for the hands of Signor Di Lirio's lovely daughters, the old gentleman agrees, as long as they have the approval of their mother. The problem is, his wife died three years ago, and he has gone so mad with grief that he still believes she is alive. However, one of the suitors is the town scoundrel, Giovio, who plays a series of kind-hearted but hilarious tricks that bring the father back to sanity and the intended couples together.

Sharing the Stage is Murder May 30 - June 15 by Carol M. Rice, directed by Molly Bower Comedy/Mystery An English drawing room comedy, an American sex farce, and a play about Chicago mobsters running from the law collide onstage in this hilarious yet surreal comedy/mystery. Featuring stereotypical characters from each genre meeting unexpectedly during what they think is “real life,” all is not as it appears as the bodies pile up and the beleaguered stage manager must come make things right. World Premiere!

One Day Only 29, take 2 Saturday, June 22, Festival Another installment of our signature play festival, featuring five short plays, concept to curtain in JUST ONE DAY! Once again included in the regular season!

Francine’s Will July 11-13 by Mary Dattillo, directed by Nancy Pistilli Youth Show - Comedy Francine Faraday dies and leaves her entire estate to her longtime companion H.P. Manly. While the loyal members of Francine's staff are delighted, her money-hungry relatives are furious. Though the will is ironclad, the relatives find that they can inherit Francine's fortune if H.P. dies of "natural" causes. As the family plots H.P.'s demise, the staff schemes to save him, resulting in counter-plots and mixed-up romances aplenty. Presented by actors ages 10-18. Now included in the regular season!

10-Minute Play Festival July 25 - August 10, Festival Join us for the winners in our fifth annual 10-minute comedy contest! Funny stuff from playwrights all over the world!

Morning’s At Seven August 29 - September 14 by Paul Osborn, directed by Kim Titus Classic Comedy Aaronetta and Ida Gibbs have lived next door to each other most of their lives and all of the Gibb sisters are an open book to each. Into the fray comes Myrtle Brown, perpetually engaged to Ida's son Homer. But Homer can't seem to pop the question. Taking matters into her own hands, Myrtle finally gets a proposal by compelling Homer to fly the nest. Sort of. A perennially charming portrait of small town America fifty plus years ago.

Chemical Imbalance: A Jekyll and Hyde Play October 10-26 by Lauren Wilson, directed by Mikey Abrams Dark Comedy A darkly comic adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, this is a fast-paced romp about men and women tightrope walking the line between aristocracy and depravity, and between the twin spectres of good and evil. "The humor is nonstop, but cannot cover the highly sinister aspects of the plot…" —San Francisco Bay Times.

A Comedy of Tenors November 7-23 by Ken Ludwig, directed by Penny Chinn Farce One hotel suite, four tenors, two wives, three girlfriends, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans. What could possibly go wrong? It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century - as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife Maria from causing runaway chaos. It’s an uproarious ride, full of mistaken identities, bedroom hijinks, and madcap delight.

Any Wednesday January 10-26 by Muriel Resnik, directed by Carol M. Rice Romantic Comedy John, a company president, is using the executive suite to house his mistress, Ellen, whom he sees once a week. Cass recently sold his factory to the middle-aged romancer and is mistakenly directed to the suite by a new secretary...as is John’s wife Dorothy, who assumes Ellen and Cass are a nice young married couple. All the confusion creates a delightful comedy, in which tax advantages don’t always translate to love.

The PlayMakers February 7-23 by Julie Zaffarano, directed by Jill Lightfoot Comedy Lisa and Sebastian were a successful romantic comedy playwriting team and lovers whose professional and personal relationships unraveled, crashed, and burned. After several years apart, they are thrown together by a producer to create a revival play. As they try to recapture their signature spark, their characters revolt as the lines between reality and fantasy blur. Winner of our 2018 New Full-Length Play Contest!

The Bold, the Young, and the Murdered February 28 - March 2 by Don Zolidas, directed by Nicole Denson Youth Show - Comedy/Mystery The executive producer of long-running yet troubled soap opera The Bold and the Young gives the squabbling cast an ultimatum: Complete one episode overnight or the show dies. But when the director ends up murdered and then the cast members start dropping like flies, it seems like his threat might actually come true. Can these misfits discover the murderer before the show is literally killed off? Presented by actors ages 10-18. Now included in the regular season!

365 Women a Year Festival March 28 - April 6, Festival Rover again partners with international playwriting coalition, 365 Women A Year, whose focus is to write and present plays about extraordinary women, bring women back into the social consciousness, and plant seeds of herstory around the country.

Abby Kipp-Roberts most recently designed the sets for Unnecessary Farce in the debut season of Not Right Productions and The Belle of West Texas for Rover. She has designed many shows in the Metroplex for multiple companies including Rover Dramawerks, Onstage in Bedford, Runway Theatre, and Allen's Community Theatre, among others. When not set designing, she travels working in corporate and tour production all over the world. Page 6: presents · 2020. 7. 11. · Who's Who Anya Almand is an 8th grade student. Anya is big fan of art, computers, and theater and has goals to work at Pixar one day. In addition to her

As a playwright, Carol is proud to say that Rover produced her world premieres of Around the World in 80 Days in 2008 and Murder at the Orient Burlesque in 2011, with Sharing the Stage is Murder on next season’s schedule. Despite her absolute love of theatre, her favorite roles are Wife to best friend Jason and Mom to Stephen and Scott. Steve Roberts has been a professional lighting, sound, and video engineer for over 20 years. He has traveled the world doing live production. He is happy to be returning for his third “official” show with Rover. When not designing, Steve enjoys blowing things up, driving his tractor, and shooting things. Lara Williams is new to the DFW theatre scene after having just relocated from Wichita Falls. She grew up there performing at three different community theaters. Her favorite roles she played while there are Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, Princess Fiona in Shrek: The Musical, and Jo March in Little Women. She later attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, where she met her husband. Lara is thankful to her family for their support and grateful to Rover Dramawerks for this opportunity to be on stage again.
