2020-2021 Family Tuition Contract

FAMILY STATUS Each family must register as a “parish” or “non-parish” member of the school community. For tuition purposes, a parishioner family is defined as:

● Registered with Saint Ann Parish, Saint Christopher Parish, Saint Peter the ApostleParish or Saint Pius X Parish prior to signing this contract.

● Contributes regularly to the Church, using a parish envelope system.● Being active parishioners, attending Sunday Mass and supporting the parish mission and

its ministries. It is important to acknowledge that the parishes and the school develop plans and budgets based on expected tuition and parish revenues.

HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION All school families are required to make a commitment to support the Home and School Association mission, activities and fundraising efforts. This commitment includes membership dues, financial support and sustenance in the organization and implementation of fundraising efforts, as well as the needs of special student and parent activities. Specifically, parents are required to review and agree to one of two levels of service commitment which includes a designated amount of monetary contribution, donation of gifts to be used in fundraisers, raffle purchases and/volunteer time. .

TUITION PAYMENT All families must select and agree to a tuition payment option. Families that select a monthly payment plan must enroll in FACTS Management Tuition payment service for a ten month plan that begins in July and ends in April. Families that register after July must have an adjusted monthly payment that assures tuition will be paid in full by April. As a client of FACTS Management, the family is also responsible for the annual FACTS registration fee and any late fees incurred due to delinquency. A family may also elect the option of paying tuition directly to the school. This option is available only for families that submit one, single payment-in-full in July or two payments in July and January. There is no administrative fee for the one and two payment options.

REGISTRATION AND DEPOSITS Only families who are in good standing and current in their tuition payments may re-register. Returning families are required to submit a re-registration fee per student. New families are required to submit a registration fee per student and their student’s/students’ first-month tuition as a deposit. There is an annual family registration fee for After School Care. All registration fees and first-month tuition deposits are non-refundable.

ONGOING TUITION PAYMENTS Families are expected to honor their commitment to pay tuition in a timely fashion. Tuition accounts are reviewed monthly. Delinquent accounts that are three or more months overdue will result in the suspension of educational services for a family. The school will not provide transcripts or report cards to such families until tuition accounts are paid to date.

A family with special circumstance may contact the principal in writing regarding a consideration to adjust tuition payments. It may be necessary for the family to complete and submit a financial aid form for review. Temporary or permanent adjustments may be arranged at the discretion of the principal.

2020-2021 Family Tuition Contract

TUITION COMMITMENT All Saints Academy is extremely reliant on the predictable and stable revenue of tuition income. Any deviation from the expected income may have a negative impact of school operations including instruction and student life. The family commitment to complete tuition payment is, therefore, taken very seriously. The undersigned acknowledge that tuition payments reflect a commitment for an entire academic year. As an academic institution, All Saints Academy, does not operate on the premise of month-by-month education or revenue.

Tuition refunds will not be offered to the families of the students who do not complete the school year for any reason. A family that elects to withdraw its student(s) after signing this agreement and prior to the end of the academic year is not entitled to a refund for past service or for pre-paid tuition. Also, tuition refunds are not applicable in the case of student dismissal. All Saints Academy, in accordance with Diocesan policy reserves the right to suspend, dismiss, or otherwise discipline student at its discretion as an educational institution, or otherwise terminate this contract due to the academic performance or behavior of the student and/or the family of the student.

Any adjustment to this policy will be made by the principal, in no less than thirty (30) days, following the submission of a written request by a family with special circumstances of a withdrawal. The determination made by the principal as the primary school administration is final, and there is no other line of recourse to consider.

Unless specially noted in a current All Saints Academy Custodial Agreement form, the terms of a family’s tuition and/or fee account may be shared with both custodial parents. All Saints Academy is not responsible for information shared with either custodial parent despite any possible estrangement of parents.

Young people, as has often been said, are the future of society and the Church. Good use of the Internet can help prepare them for their responsibilities in both. But this will not happen automatically. The Internet is not merely a medium of entertainment and consumer gratification. It is a tool for accomplishing useful work, and the young must learn to see it and use it as such. In cyberspace, at least as much as anywhere else, they may be called on to go against the tide, practice counter-culturalism, even suffer persecution for the sake of what is true and good.

Vatican Pontifical Council for Social Communications

THE CHURCH AND INTERNET

All Saints Academy encourages student use of computers and the Internet in a responsible and ethical manner. These pages tell you how you should use the computers and other electronic tools of the school responsibly. By learning to use computers responsibly as students, you will grow into adults who use computers effectively and appropriately.

Even though we use the words “computer” and “computer system” in these pages, what we say applies to all school owned electronic devices (such as but not limited to TV's, VCR's and DVD players, telephones, and tablets) that are at the school, along with any information and software programs. Additionally, any device you bring from home that uses the school’s Internet connection is also covered by this policy while you are connected to the school’s Internet.

Also, while we use the words “teacher” and “teachers” in these pages, what we say applies to any adult who works in the school supervising students. It does not just mean your classroom teacher or computer teacher.

The Internet system here at school is for school activities only. While there are things that you might be allowed to do using the Internet and computers at home, you might not be allowed to do some of these things here at school. This is because what you do using the computers here at school has to go along with what you are learning in your classroom - the computers and Internet are here to help you learn.

All Saints Academy can tell you what you are allowed to do, and what you are not allowed to do using the computers at school. We have created these guidelines to help teach you how to access computers and the Internet in a responsible and safe manner, and to be sure that you use computers and the Internet the right way while you are in school. We want you to use the computers and the Internet in a way that is Christian and doesn't break any laws.

Later on, we will ask you to sign your name to show that you understand these guidelines, and that you are promising to follow them. We will also ask your parents to sign so that we know that they agree with these guidelines, and have talked to you about these policies. Your parents also have to give you their permission to use the Internet while you are in school.

As a user of computers and the Internet, there are certain responsibilities that you have that will help protect your rights, and the rights of others.

2020-2021 Paterson Diocesan School Internet and Computer Use Agreement for Elementary Schools

You have a right to your own personal information.

● You have a responsibility to keep your personal information private by not telling other people on the Internet where you live, how they can find you, or other personal information about yourself. People are not always honest on the Internet, so by keeping your personal information private, it will help to keep you safe from strangers.

Your classmates have the right to keep their personal information protected from strangers.

● You have a responsibility to keep all other students’ personal information private by not telling other people on the Internet where other students live, how they can find them, or other personal information about the students. It is just as important to keep your friends safe as it is to keep yourself safe.

You have a right for your picture to be private. Your picture, pictures of classmates, and pictures of other people at the school should be kept private.

● You have a responsibility to keep your picture, pictures of classmates, and pictures of other people at the school private by not sending or posting the pictures Internet. Once an image is posted, you lose control of the picture and anyone can download and share it.

You have a right to be free from danger when going online.

● You have a responsibility to tell a parent or teacher if someone online asks to meet you in person or talk to you on the phone. Since people can be dishonest online, if someone asks to meet you or speak to you, they might be looking to harm you.

● You have a responsibility to tell a parent or teacher if another student tries to meet someone in person that they met online. By telling a parent or teacher, you are helping to protect the safety of the other student.

● You have a responsibility to tell a parent or teacher if an adult online tells you something that makes you feel uncomfortable or asks you to keep something secret or private. An adult doing these things could be dangerous - telling your teacher or a parent will help to keep you safe.

You have a right to keep your personal identity private.

● You have a responsibility to respect the privacy of other students by not telling or writing about what someone else told you without permission of the person who sent you the message. Just as you would not want your personal privacy exposed on the Internet, you should respect others by showing them the same courtesy.

You have a right to protect your files and keep them free from harm.

● You have a responsibility to keep your passwords, and anyone else’s password that you may know, private by not sharing them with anyone else. Keeping your password safe will help to protect your files from being accessed by other people.

● You have a responsibility to respectfully share the computers with other students, and not access the school or another student’s files without their permission. Just as you would not want anyone to harm your files, you must respect your teacher’s and student’s files by not accessing them without permission.

● You have a responsibility to respect the computers at school, and not do anything on purpose that would make them stop working or damage any information that is kept on them. If you intentionally damage a computer, you could potentially damage your classmates’ files.

Page 19: 2020-2021 Admission Policies - Tuition and Fees NEW ASA ...€¦ · Family name (if different than student’s last name) Parent and Guardian Information (must list 2) Name Relationship

2020-2021 Paterson Diocesan School Internet and Computer Use Agreement for Elementary Schools

● You have the responsibility to not change any computer or software settings without permission. Remember, these are not your personal computers, so you cannot change settings just because you do not like them.

● You have a responsibility to help with keeping the computers safe from damage. You should not download or copy anything from another computer or the Internet without your teacher’s permission. Sometimes files contain hidden programs that can damage a computer, which is why you need to ask permission from your teacher before you copy or download anything.

● You have a responsibility to tell your teacher if something on your school computer doesn’t seem to be working right. The sooner the school knows about something wrong, the easier it is to fix.

You have a right to be in a setting free from offensive language.

● You have a responsibility to use the computers and school Internet in a way that represents you as a student in a Catholic school. What you say online is a reflection on both yourself and the school.

● You have a responsibility to use good language, and not use words someone else might think are mean or dirty, or language that shows disrespect or that would make someone else afraid or uncomfortable. Calling someone names, or using inappropriate language online is the same as doing it in the classroom. If your teacher would be upset with you saying something in the classroom, it is not something you should say online either.

● You have a responsibility to act maturely online. This includes not sending or posting information that puts someone else in danger, attacks or insults someone else, annoys or pesters someone, or acting in a way that could be considered bullying. If someone asks you to stop doing something online that makes them annoyed or upset, you have the responsibility to stop. It is just as bad to pick on someone online as it is in the classroom.

● You have a responsibility to use communication tools appropriately (including email, chats, blogs, instant messaging, social media/networking, and other discussion and communication tools) by not sending annoying or unnecessary messages to people. You should only use these tools in school when it is part of your assignments.

You have a right to keep other people from using your pictures, words, and ideas for class assignments without your permission.

● You have a responsibility to not copy pictures, words, or ideas that you find on the Internet and try to pretend that they are your pictures, words, or ideas. Copying other peoples’ words and pretending it is your own is called plagiarism, and is something that is not allowed. When you get to college, some schools will expel you for plagiarism.

● You have a responsibility to respect the rights of people who own things by not copying things that you find on the Internet, like pictures or music, without the permission of the person or company that owns it. If you are not sure, you should ask your teacher. Copying other peoples’ pictures and music and using it in your own work is called copyright infringement and is against the law. People have been sued for thousands of dollars for using pictures and songs without permission.

You have a right to be in an environment that is free from offensive and illegal material.

● You have a responsibility to not go to websites or download things that are dirty, against the law, or that talk about hating or hurting other people. These sites are inappropriate for both school and home.

Page 20: 2020-2021 Admission Policies - Tuition and Fees NEW ASA ...€¦ · Family name (if different than student’s last name) Parent and Guardian Information (must list 2) Name Relationship

2020-2021 Paterson Diocesan School Internet and Computer Use Agreement for Elementary Schools

● If your parents tell you about other sites or places that they want you to stay away from when you are online, you have the responsibility to listen to their instructions even when you are at school.

● You have a responsibility to not use any device connected to the school’s network to do anything that is against the law or not Christian behavior. Please remember you are using computers and the Internet in a Catholic school. Your online presence is an extension of yourself - your behavior online should reflect your behavior in the classroom.

Other Things You Should Know About What You Should and Shouldn’t Do Online

● Remember that your principal and teacher are allowed to look at anything that you have stored on the computers at school, and anything that you make using the Internet or computers while you are in school. If the police or any other government officials need to look at information on the school computers to investigate a crime or something against the law, the school will help them. If you do anything that is against any of the things talked about in these pages, you may face consequences from your teacher or principal. They may also stop you from using the computers or Internet while you are in school.

● The school can't promise that the computers or Internet will always work at the school. You should always make a copy of anything you keep on the computers at school in case it is lost or damaged. You should always check with your teacher about any information you get from the Internet - sometimes it may not be right. If you do anything while you are online at school that costs money, you and your parents are responsible for paying for it. If you do something that breaks the computers, or costs the school money, you and your parents will have to pay for it.

● The school expects that you will follow the directions of your teachers and other school authorities when you use the computers and Internet at school. Anytime that you use the computers or the Internet, you must show a respect for others. Your actions must also show that you understand that every person is important and that we are all God's children and are brothers and sisters.

● Anything that you do online leaves a “digital footprint”. Pictures that you post, words that you type, and things that you say, can all float around the Internet forever. Help to respect and protect your future self by acting responsibly online now.

2020-2021 After School Care Program Information

All Saints Academy is pleased to offer quality after school care for students, Preschool to Grade 8. Starting at 2:30PM, the After Care center is located in our school cafeteria. The Principal leads the program; teacher’s aides provide support throughout the afternoon. Children may bring a simple snack, and there is homework supervision and recreational time. There are planned activities and free-play, both inside and outside. Children may bring a change of clothing suitable for play. Students in grades 1 and up are supervised in a mandatory “study hall” area before free time. Students will be closely supervised in a relaxed, yet secure, environment.

Service is available on a monthly, contractual or "drop-in" basis; however, care is provided only for children who are registered in the program. After School Care coincides with our school calendar and is open each day until 6:00 PM. When the school has a planned early dismissal, service will be available unless specifically noted on the school calendar. Scheduled closing times may be changed at the discretion of the Principal. When school is closed, care is not available. When there is an emergency early dismissal, After Care remains open until a specific time based on weather conditions, available staffing and specific school circumstances.

After Care is a program that we can offer only if it is cost-effective and orderly; it is an optional school service. In order to maintain the quality of this program, all fees and rules will be strictly upheld. There will be no exceptions to the payment policy. Students are subject to all daily school codes of discipline and conduct. Students that do not adhere to the school code of conduct may be subject to discipline, and repeated violations may result in dismissal from the After School Program.

The school absentee list serves the program as well. If, however your child is in school, but will not be attending the program as usual, you must inform the school office by note or phone call. If your child becomes ill during After School Care, the teacher will notify you or an emergency contact to pick up the child as soon as possible. Any significant changes in your child’s after care schedule (ie, going a week or more without staying for care, etc.) must be submitted to the office in writing.

Children will not be permitted to walk home or leave the center with an unauthorized person without a note or phone call to the office or center. When picking up your child, please use the side door of the school that leads to the cafeteria.

The After School Care Program ends sharply at 6:00 PM. Fines and possible expulsion will be imposed on those who do not comply. Your after care account will be charged a fine for late pickups since two employees must stay on duty and be paid to accommodate the change in schedule. Please make arrangements for someone to pick up your child if you will be late. Emergencies do happen and we understand, however your child and we would like a phone call to let us know what is happening. Please carry the necessary phone numbers with you: School Main Phone Number: 973-334-4704 After Care Direct Phone Number: 973-567-1253 (between 2:45 – 6pm)

For matters concerning the program operation and fees, please contact the Main Office.

2020-2021 Option #1 Full Buy-Out in lieu of

Fundraising

Though tuition income results in the greatest financial resource for our school, All Saints Academy depends on additional financial support through fundraising efforts and participation. The diocesan guideline for parent-generated fundraising goals for an elementary school is $180,000 which is equivalent to approximately 8% of the total budgeted income. Fundraising income of this extent is absolutely necessary to the financial health and stability of our school. Families registering for this option must agree to the following terms:

This option is designed for parents that do not have time for the commitments of fundraising activities and managing volunteer time for events. For parents that would like a simpler approach, we recommend you consider the payment in lieu option as a “buy-out.” You will be committed to a trouble-free, completely tax-deductible contribution to All Saints Academy.

The buy-out option requires a family contribution of $1000.00. The total buy-out of $1000.00 is addition to tuition, fees, miscellaneous expenses and optional minor fundraising efforts. Payment will be considered as a tax-deductible charitable donation. Upon request, All Saints Academy will provide a receipt for your charitable contribution.

BUY-OUT PLAN AGREEMENT Our family commits to make $1000.00 donation in lieu of fundraising and volunteer commitments, which include participation in: Annual Tricky Tray, Fall Raffle, Spring Raffle, Volunteer Commitment for Two (2) Fundraising Events. It does not include optional fundraising events (examples: Tag Days, FoodDrives, Class Contributions, Other Fundraising or School Spirit Events). Please initial your preference below: _____ Our family chooses to make one total buy-out contribution of $1000.00 by August 15, 2020.

_____ Our family chooses to make two equal buy-out contributions of $500.00 by August 15, 2020 and January 15, 2021.

_____ Our family chooses to make equal monthly payments totaling a $1000.00 donation, paid in full by April 15, 2021. Payments will be automatically submitted via FACTS Management Tuition Services and noted as “Volunteer Fee.”

Dear School Families,

I would like to welcome you and your children to the 2020-2021 school year at All Saints Academy. Here are some important reminders from our Health Office:

ABSENCES

A parent/guardian must call the school no later than 8:30am to report a student's absence. The Health Office absentee phone line is 973-334-4704, ext. 304. IMPORTANT: Any child with a producSve cough, fever, skin rashes, diarrhea or inflamed eyes should be kept home. If a child has been up during the night with nausea, vomiSng, fever, or an earache, please keep the child home unSl he/she is recovered and free of fever, diarrhea and/or vomiSng for 24 hours without medicaSon. It has been my experience that the child is usually at the nurse's office within an hour of the beginning of school suffering from the same symptoms, requiring the parent to return to school. This will also help prevent complicaSons and protect classmates and teachers/staff.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS

If your child is excused from physical educaSon class for a medical reason, a physician's note aXesSng to that fact or a prescripSon note is necessary. Likewise, please be aware that a note from the physician is also required for your child to resume physical educaSon class.

MEDICATION AND FORMS

AuthorizaSon Forms to be used for both prescripSon and non-prescripSon drugs are located online at www.allsaintspar.org. Please note that we do not stock medicaSons in school. If your child suffers from chronic headaches or allergy symptoms, you will need to provide medicaSon to be kept in school, along with the completed authorizaSon forms signed by both the DOCTOR and the PARENT. Please return appropriate forms with unopened medicaSon, in its original packaging and labeling, with the child's name and grade. The nurse will o]en call the parents first to discuss the situaSon before administering an over the counter medicaSon. Forms regarding students with asthma, food allergies, and the usage of AUTOMATIC EPINEPHRINE injectors are also included in the health form packet. Please make certain that these forms are completed and returned with medicaSon during the first days of school. Any child who requires a RESCUE INHALER should have paperwork and medicaSon on file in the Health Office. As long as an authorizaSon form is on file, a medicaSon can be given even if a parent cannot be reached. Daily prescripSon medicaSons are given rouSnely without a call.

PLEASE NOTE: You DO NOT NEED TO RETURN any medicaSon permission forms if your child is not going to receive medicaSons in school; however, you may want to save the forms for possible use during the school year.

Thank you for your cooperaSon in the above maXers. Please feel free to contact the Health Office, at 973-334-4704, ext. 304, with any quesSons and concerns throughout the year.

Physical Forms: An annual Physical form and/or an AthleSc ParScipaSon form (grades 6,7 & 8) is available at www.allsaintspar.org. Please have the most current immunizaSon record aXached to the physical forms.

Thank you for your cooperaSon! Mary Ann Meisenbacher, RN
