Step 1 : Review our Premier Sponsorship Opportuni t ies (Exhibi t A) , 2020 Summit Opportuni t ies ( fu l l day CLE program) (Exhibi t B) and/or Indiv idual Sponsorship Opportuni t ies (Exhibi t C) .

Step 2: Review our Program Descr ipt ions (Exhibi t D) to learn more about the types of substant ive, socia l , fun and engaging programs that we present .

Step 3: Review our Program Guidel ines (Exhibi t E ) for more informat ion on the s t ructure and design of our sponsorship opportuni t ies . Step 4: Apply for one of our Premier Sponsorship Opportuni t ies , 2020 Summit Opportuni t ies ( fu l l day CLE program) and/or Indiv idual Sponsorship Opportuni t ies by submit t ing the ACC Chicago 2020 Sponsorship Program Appl icat ion which accompanied th is packet via email to chicago@accglobal .com on or before 5:00pm (Central t ime) on December 2, 2019 . P lease note that we of ten have more sponsors than we are able to accommodate. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. I t is in your best interest to submit your fu l ly completed proposal as soon as possible. Appl icat ions that are not fu l ly completed, inc luding the select ion of desi red dates and program topics wi l l not be considered complete and wi l l be sent back to the appl icant to complete.

In determining whether to accept a sponsor program appl icat ion, our select ion commit tee considers sponsor appl icat ion t imel iness, previous program feedback, the qual i ty of the submission, the breadth of the sponsor ’s support for ACC Chicago and the sponsor ’s a l ignment wi th ACC Chicago’s miss ion and membership needs.

Step 5: On or af ter December 16, 2019, you wi l l be not i f ied i f your appl icat ion has been accepted. The review, considerat ion, award and decl ine of a l l sponsorship appl icat ions wi l l be conducted by, and in the sole discret ion of, ACC Chicago. I f accepted, the fu l l amount of your sponsorship fee wi l l be due no later than January 31 , 2020.

Step 6: We plan to meet wi th Plat inum Sponsors f i rs t to discuss the planning of their programs. Af ter we meet wi th Plat inum sponsors , we wi l l begin to schedule Gold, S i lver and Indiv idual sponsors ( in that order ) . Notwi thstanding the foregoing, ACC Chicago may seek to f i l l i ts calendar of programs based upon sponsor schedul ing preferences where needed to address other schedul ing gaps.

ROUNDTABLES

The typical roundtable discussion includes 2-3 sponsor at torneys and 5-15 in-house counsel . ACC CHICAGO MEET AND GREET HAPPY HOURS

(Avai lable to Plat inum and Gold Sponsors)ACC Chicago holds regular fourth Thursday Meet and Greet Happy Hours in the downtown area. These events are casual and include cocktai ls and hors d’oeuvres. Based upon avai labi l i ty, P lat inum and Gold sponsors may use the networking/socia l event opt ion included in their sponsorships to host one of our regular happy hours . Meet and Greet Happy Hour expenses (venue rental ( i f appl icable) , cocktai ls and hors d’oeuvres) are paid by the sponsor and may be enhanced at the sponsor ’s opt ion. Sponsors may also propose to host a unique socia l and networking event (preferably taking place on the fourth Thursday, but in any event in accordance wi th ACC Chicago’s calendar ing pol ic ies) such as a show, an exhibi t ion, or a sport ing event . ACC Chicago’s socia l and networking events can be very popular and successful program events . Interact ive events , such as cooking events , adul t beverage tast ings, p ing pong and other table games, have been part icular ly wel l received. ANNUAL IN-HOUSE COUNSEL CELEBRATION EVENT

I t is an opportuni ty to network, socia l ize and enjoy a unique exper ience and has at t racted over 600 members, sponsors and guests . In 2019, the event wi l l be held at Morgan Manufactur ing and wi l l feature networking, a l ive band, and carnival themed food and enterta inment . The evening also includes a presentat ion of the Chapter ’s Thurgood Marshal l Award of Excel lence and a Member of the Year award.

In pr ior years , the Celebrat ion Event has been hosted at the Fie ld Museum or hotel banquet hal ls and have featured wel l -known keynote speakers , inc luding the Honorable Madel ine Albr ight , Malcolm Gladwel l , Juan Wi l l iams, Cokie Roberts , Wal ter Isaacson, Steven Levi t t , Dan Rather and the Honorable Henry M. Paulson, Jr.

The 2020 ACC Chicago Summit wi l l be held in the Spr ing of 2020, featur ing a fu l l day of MCLE programming along wi th breakfast , lunch, and a cocktai l recept ion. COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND PRO-BONO EVENTS


With the assistance of P lat inum and Gold Sponsors , ACC Chicago sponsors a number of events that a l low i ts members to give back to our community. ACC Chicago is proud to sponsor two important p ipel ine programs (Street Law and the Divers i ty Summer Internship Program) , several pro-bono programs and a var iety of programs that enable members to support and serve through in i t ia t ives that target wide-ranging interests . The Chapter sponsors an award-winning program with Street Law, Inc. through which in-house counsel conduct legal workshops in Chicago and northwest suburban publ ic h igh schools in an ef for t to a l low diverse, underserved high school s tudents to explore legal topics , ro le play and develop interest in the law as a career. In connect ion wi th the Street Law program, Plat inum and Gold Sponsors may have an opportuni ty to host a t ra in ing session for volunteer in-house counsel or the day- long conference wi th the volunteers and students . Both opportuni t ies involve providing conference faci l i t ies in Chicago or the northwest suburban area and a box lunch. The box lunch is typical ly paid for by ACC Chicago.

ACC Chicago also conducts a Divers i ty Summer Internship Program, which places f i rs t -year law students in Chicago-area in-house legal departments to expose students to the pract ice of law f rom an in-house perspect ive. HOST A BOARD MEETING


Plat inum and Gold Sponsors have the opportuni ty to host one ACC Chicago Board meet ing. At the beginning of each meet ing, the sponsor is inv i ted to share informat ion about i ts f i rm or a part icular pract ice area. We ask that the sponsor provide a l ight /working dinner for the Board members.

OTHER EVENTS

I t should be noted, as provided above, that there are a few remaining one-of f programs to which ACC Chicago has previously commit ted that may be per iodical ly scheduled dur ing the Program Year. PROGRAM TERM Al l programs, meet ings or sponsor benef i ts must occur or be received dur ing the Program Term, which runs f rom February 1 , 2020 to January 31 , 2021 . SCHEDULING OF TOPICS AND EVENT DATESWe request that sponsors submit possible program topics and desired dates in st r ic t accordance wi th the instruct ions on the ACC Chicago 2020 Sponsorship Program Appl icat ion.

As previously noted, the pr ior i ty of schedul ing topics and program dates is based on level of sponsorship. However, wi th in a level of sponsorship, sponsors who submit appl icat ions ear l ier wi l l have pr ior i ty in choices of dates and topics . In addi t ion, unless an except ion is approved by the ACC Chicago Program Director, al l programs must occur on a Tuesday or Thursday. As ment ioned above, Premier Sponsors are encouraged to present their MCLE program both at a downtown locat ion and a suburban locat ion dur ing the same week, and to plan for th is dur ing the program and date select ion process. Nothwithstanding the foregoing, ACC Chicago may seek to f i l l i ts calendar of programs based upon sponsor schedul ing preferences where needed to address other schedul ing gaps.

Unfortunately, i f despi te reasonable ef for ts by ACC Chicago to schedule an event wi th a sponsor, a sponsor does not schedule i ts event dur ing the Program Term, the Sponsor wi l l for fe i t i ts opportuni ty to sponsor the event and i ts sponsorship fee.

MARKETING OF EVENTSACC Chicago is subject to the pr ivacy pol icy of the Associat ion of Corporate Counsel (which can be found at ht tps: / /www.acc.com/about-acc/pr ivacy-pol ic ies/pr ivacy-pol icy) , and we ask for our sponsors’ ass istance in adher ing to th is commitment . In addi t ion, in the event a sponsor obtains an ACC Chicago member’s informat ion (unless voluntar i ly provided direct ly to sponsor ) , the sponsor is s t r ic t ly prohibi ted f rom using such informat ion for any purpose other than in connect ion wi th approved invi tat ions to ACC Chicago’s membership for the sponsor ’s program event . Notwi thstanding th is , raf f le pr izes are permit ted at sponsored events . Sponsors may accept business cards f rom at tendees for such raf f le pr izes (and otherwise as voluntar i ly provided by members) and keep such business cards for their own use. Al l inv i tat ions to members and al l event regist rat ions by members are developed and presented through ACC Chicago using ACC Chicago template forms and processes, unless an except ion is approved by the Program Director. Separately, sponsors are st rongly encouraged to inv i te their in-house c l ients , especia l ly non-ACC members, to their sponsored ACC Chicago events and may issue their own invi tat ions and sol ic i tat ions di rect ly to such c l ients as wel l as post the event to their websi te and advert ise on socia l media. Any inv i tat ion referencing the ACC Chicago and/or the programs presented by sponsors pursuant to th is 2020 Sponsorship Packet must be reviewed pr ior to dist r ibut ion by ACC Chicago and must a lso include the most current ACC Chicago logo.

EVENT REGISTRATIONSACC Chicago wi l l have the responsibi l i ty of receiv ing and handl ing the regist rat ion for a l l events . Events are of fered to ACC Chicago members and other in-house counsel e i ther for f ree or for a modest regist rat ion fee.

Any such regist rat ion fees col lected by ACC Chicago shal l remain the property of ACC Chicago, unless otherwise expressly agreed upon by ACC Chicago and sponsor in connect ion wi th an act iv i ty that involves th i rd party part ic ipat ion fees.

EVENT COSTSExcept as otherwise noted in the Program Descr ipt ions, sponsors are responsible for select ing a venue and paying a l l expenses associated wi th their sponsored programs, inc luding expenses associated wi th meals , dr inks, audio-v isual needs and venue rental fees. ACC Chicago and sponsor l ia isons can provide histor ical in format ion and feedback on venues selected for pr ior programs.

Sponsors should arrange for the development , product ion and pr int ing of a l l program handouts as wel l as the preparat ion of at tendees’ nametags (which must inc lude the ACC Chicago logo) and table tents or other nametags for i ts presenters .

MCLE ACCREDITATIONACC Chicago is an I l l inois MCLE Approved Provider. Our ACC Chicago Chapter Execut ive Administ rator wi l l supply sponsors wi th a l l necessary documents for MCLE programs and be responsible for submit t ing the program to the I l l inois MCLE Board. I t is the responsibi l i ty of the sponsor f i rms to ensure that the MCLE forms are f i l led out completely, inc luding the ARDC numbers for a l l a t tendees, and returned to the Chapter Execut ive Administ rator wi th in 7 days.

HANDOUTS AND DISTRIBUTION OF MARKETING MATERIALSTo obtain I l l inois MCLE credi t , each Sponsor must e i ther (a ) provide paper handouts to at tendees at the star t of the program, or (b ) e lectronical ly provide handouts before the program. ACC Chicago reserves the r ight to use and dist r ibute handout mater ia ls , inc luding the r ight to post such mater ia ls on the ACC Chicago websi te (which is a part of the broader ACC headquarters s i te which is publ ic and accessible to a l l ACC members wor ldwide) .

A sponsor ’s h ighest return is best achieved through qual i ty presentat ions highl ight ing the sponsor ’s substant ive expert ise and networking wi th members at ACC events . Accordingly, for the benef i t of ACC Chicago as wel l as our sponsors , we must st r ic t ly prohibi t Sponsors f rom engaging in di rect market ing and business sol ic i tat ion at any event .

Sponsors may make market ing mater ia ls avai lable to event at tendees in reasonable quant i t ies and types. I t is our exper ience, however, that in-house counsel may develop a negat ive impression of sponsors and events involv ing di rect market ing.

(a ) i r revocably consent to and grant Associat ion of Corporate Counsel ( “ACC”) , ACC Chicago and their agents , representat ives and l icensees, a l l r ights to use and publ ish for promot ional and internal purposes in a l l media, now known or hereaf ter developed, their name, statements , quotes, b iographical data provided by them to ACC Chicago, image, l ikeness and voice, in whole or in part , and to copyr ight any mater ia ls created; and

(b) any r ight to inspect , approve, or be compensated for use of any mater ia ls incorporat ing such images and informat ion obtained dur ing the Events .
