The Sign of Peace is one of the things that is optional during the Mass. Due to the various flus that are going around and the ease with which they can be spread, I have decided we will suspend this practice during the Lenten weeks.

Anointing of the Sick Mass will be offered this Thursday at 12:10pm. This Sacrament is encouraged for anyone who is sick or will be under anesthesia for surgery. I am always willing to offer this Sacrament when needed, so please feel free to contact the office in the future and we can set up a time. Your role in shar ing the Gospel is an important one, whether or not you realize it. St. Paul reminds us this weekend that we all have a share in spreading the Gospel. As we are preparing for the Easter Vigil and the excitement of accepting new people into the Church, I am in awe of how God has brought each one of them to this point in their lives. It is a reminder to us all that God is always calling us into a deeper relationship with Himself and that we are called to be witnesses to others of this great gift we have in our faith. I think it is also important to notice that St. Paul says “not according to our works, but according to his own design and the grace bestowed on us in Christ Jesus…” St. Paul wants to encourage us all to trust in God’s grace for our lives to help us along the way. Often I can fall into the trap of thinking I need to make this or that happen, when in truth what I need to do is pray for the grace to simply follow where Christ is leading me in my own life and to know that He will bring about the good that we all seek.
