[email protected] May 2019 Check your front and rear exterior lighting. Some are on timers or sensors, so check on them when they should be on. Be sure that burned out bulbs are not causing areas of our neighborhood to be too dark for safety and security. If you drive down our alleys late at night, there are quite a few driveways which are totally dark. This can easily be an invitation for an unwanted visitor to help himself or herself to the contents of one of the cars or trucks parked in the alley. Please check your light as soon as you can. TRAFALGAR TALES This newsletter is distributed monthly, around the middle of the month, to help keep residents of the Trafalgar Square neighborhood informed of events in our community. You can email me at [email protected]. Just a friendly reminder that the Annual meeting takes place on Thursday, May 23. It will be held at 7:30 PM Hilton Garden Inn 4090 Belt Line Rd.; Addison, TX 75001 [The Inn is on Runyon Rd., behind the Back 9 Sports Bar & Grill.] We MUST obtain a quorum to hold the election for 3 new Board members. Please complete/sign and submit a form for your proxy vote at your earliest convenience if you do not plan to attend the meeting. I have forms available for proxy votes if you need one. Call me at 972-310-7303. Also, we still need candidates to run for the Board. If you wish to have a vote, meet, learn about, influence and improve the community, volunteering your time to be on the Board is the way forward. Folks, we really shouldn’t have to beg like this to get someone to serve as a Director. With Excel taking over full management, they will be doing all of the busy work, leaving the Board of Directors with a much easier job in running the TSHOA. Excel will do the “dirty work” of gathering information and guidelines on actions that an HOA has to take. The Board is left with making the decisions. It will be a much easier job than past Boards have had to deal with. We also need committee members for several of our committees. Please consider this. If you have any questions about being a Board or Committee member, feel free to call me at 972-310-7303.

Your neighbors thank you for picking up after your pet. It can take over a year for animal poop to decompose, but the eggs of parasites in the poop can infest the soil for years, ready to hitch a ride and infect the next pet or human that comes in contact with it.

Use each number 1-9 one time in the grid to the left. Your entries should equal the numbers along the bottom and on the right. The digits 1, 2, 7, and 8 are placed for you.

Continuing with our alphabetic stroll through “Old Time Doctor Remedies that Really Work” from Oct. 2018 Reader’s Digest:Urinary Tract Infection - Try drinking a glass of cranberry juice daily. Scientists think that a compound in cranberry juice can prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls of the urinary tract.Varicose Veins - Horse chestnut seed extract proves blood vessel elasticity and seem to strengthen the valves inside veins. Take a 250mg pill of horse chestnut seed extract twice a day for three months.Vision Problems - Cod-Liver Oil is a rich source of omega-3 fats, which increase blood flow to the eyes and decrease the risk of developing glaucoma and possibly macular degeneration. Take one teaspoon daily.Wounds - Since ancient Egyptian times, people have used honey as a salve for wounds. Pure honey causes a chemical reaction which produces an antiseptic. For best results, use Manuka honey, from New Zealand, which contains an additional compound that increases its effectiveness.Warts - One study found that putting duct tape on warts and replacing it every six days was more effective than freezing them, and much cheaper.Yeast Infection - Sprinkle a cup of sea salt in a warm bath. Soak to relieve itching and pain.Zits - a 5% tea tree oil gel is as effective as benzoyl peroxide lotion in limiting acne outbreaks - with fewer side effects.
