NATIONALS AUCTIONWhat have YOU got on the Table? We are challenging all vaulters and clubs to participate in bringing items for the auction event. Use your creativity in items and in bundling them together. If you get a dinner donated, try to find a bottle of wine. Or if you get a dog grooming donated get some doggie treats. Please all donations $50 value and up to count as an item. Hold a challenge within your club as well. Know someone who crochets? Have them make a blanket. Offer a service…braid a horse, parent’s night out at Nationals, etc. Don’t forget the old standbys of gift cards but maybe someone has tickets to an event or a week at their condo. Again, be creative and we can’t wait to see what you bring to the table!! This auction will take place Saturday, August 10 at National Equestrian Center. All proceeds to help with the cost of Nation-als. Turn in items to the Show Office upon arrival. Questions? Contact Robin Bowman, director at [email protected].

FOREIGN ENTRIES• Foreign competitors are welcome to enter any classes at this event. • Foreigners must provide a written note/email from their NF stating current membership in good standing or

proof of current USEF membership in good standing. • Individual foreigners may compete for ribbons and placings but may not win the National Championship title.

USEF and AVA Recognized Teams may include up to two foreign members.

MOTORIZED VEHICLESMinors who do not have a valid driver's license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competi-tions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver's license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Chapter 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. (Above requirement per USEF rules.)

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTSWhen you register your club for the competition, you MUST provide a name, email and cell phone for a Vol-unteer Coordinator from your club. Until this information is provided, your club is not fully registered for competition. Jobs will be posted after the Order of Go is released. An email will be sent to each club's volun-teer coordinator when jobs are posted. Every competing club is required to provide an equitable number of vol-unteer hours to match their number of vaulters. (i.e. a club with 15% of the vaulters competing is required to fill 15% of the volunteer jobs.) Percentages are managed by the AVA Volunteer Coordinator (Barb Brooks.) Clubs are not allowed to sign up for practice time at the competition until the required number of jobs for their club are filled. We strongly recommend that each club bring enough ADULT non-vaulters to fill their require-ments for job credits. All jobs must be filled by August 2. All workers/volunteers entering the competition arena (clerks, timers, gate assistants, announcers, music staff, runners, arena scorers, etc.) should be neatly attired in khaki or black bottoms with a blue shirt and MUST also wear AVA penny. Closed toe shoes are required for all volunteers working in or near the arena or barn. No jeans are allowed for volunteers working in the arenas. Let's all look sharp! Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected] or [email protected] if you have questions.

MANAGEMENT DECISIONS• Management reserves the right to correct any error or make necessary changes in the schedule,

program or prize list. • Management accepts no responsibility for the decisions of the judges or steward.

14 2019 USEF/AVA NATIONAL VAULTING CHAMPIONSHIPS

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS CRITERIAAVA/USEF National Championship Qualifying Standards

GOAL• To develop a qualifying standard for determining eligibility to participate in AVA/USEF Nationals Competition.

RATINGS/SCORE STANDARD • Gold - 7.0 • Silver - 6.0 • Bronze - 5.5 • Copper - 5.0 • Trot - 5.0

WHAT SCORES COUNT• Scores may be obtained at any AVA, USEF, or FEI recognized competition• The score may be either the Round 1 score for a recognized event or the Overall R1/R2 score.• Non recognized classes are not included.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS• Scores may be earned over an 18 month period prior to close of entries for the National Championship.• The vaulter must have participated in a minimum of 3 AVA, USEF and/or FEI recognized competitions with at leastone from the vaulter's home Region during the 18 month qualifying period.

• The vaulter must have one score that meets the above qualifying standards• To qualify for copper, the vaulter must have at least one qualifying score at the canter. (The other scores could be at the trot.)

WHAT LEVEL IS THE VAULTER QUALIFIED FOR?• Qualifying scores earned in this manner qualify the vaulter for the highest level competing. The vaulter need not, however, vault at the highest level for which they are presently qualified. For example, a vaulter competing at Bronze and earning a Silver level qualifying score can vault at either Silver or Bronze at the National Championships.• Once qualified at a level, the vaulter is qualified for 3 years at that level. To move to a higher level, the vaulter must

obtain a higher qualifying score.ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF QUALIFYING:

• If a vaulter is in the top 3 in their level as determined by the Regional Supervisor in their Region, that vaulter will be qualified to compete at Nationals Competition for that year• A vaulter qualifying for the National Championship in this manner, who does not otherwise meet the qualifying

standards, must re-qualify the following year. WAIVER

• For extenuating circumstances, Vaulters unable to meet qualifying standards within the 18 month period prior to close of entries for Nationals may apply prior to close of entries for Nationals, for a dispensation to compete.• A request for dispensation to compete must be submitted to the VP of Competition at [email protected] by July 2, 2019.

If you have questions, please contact [email protected]

NATIONALS AUCTIONWhat have YOU got on the Table? We are challenging all vaulters and clubs to participate in bringing items for the auction event. Use your creativity in items and in bundling them together. If you get a dinner donated, try to find a bottle of wine. Or if you get a dog grooming donated get some dog-gie treats. Please all donations $50 value and up to count as an item. Hold a challenge within your club as well. Know someone who crochets? Have them make a blanket. Offer a service…braid a horse, parent’s night out at Nationals, etc. Don’t forget the old stand-bys of gift cards but maybe someone has tickets to an event or a week at their condo. Again, be creative and we can’t wait to see what you bring to the table!! This auction will take place Saturday, August 10 at National Equestrian Center. All proceeds to help with the cost of Nationals. Turn in items to the Show Office upon arrival. Questions? Con-tact Robin Bowman, director at [email protected].
