Behavior & Discipline
Strike System
Camper’s Expectations
At Teen Scene, we always strive to make camp a fun and safe
environment. We have a strike system in place. We always want the campers
to feel safe and comfortable at their site. The Teen Scene Program has a zero
tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior, such as, any form of fighting,
biting, kicking, scratching, punching, spitting, use of illegal drugs, carrying
dangerous weapons, bullying, etc. If a child exhibits any of these behaviors,
the Westfield Recreation Department has the right to suspend or expel the
child from camp without a refund.
1st Strike: Verbal warning and parental notification.
2nd Strike: Camper will be asked to sit out, and the counselor will
address the issue. Parents will be notified.
3rd Strike: Behavior report will be written and documented and will
require a parent’s signature upon pick-up.
4th Strike: Camper will be sent home and may be suspended from
camp for up to 3 days depending on the severity. A meeting will also
be scheduled with the parent/guardian and the Teen Scene
Coordinator.
5th Strike: Camper will immediately be expelled, and a meeting will be
scheduled with the Recreation Director and the Teen Scene
Coordinator.
Campers are expected to stay on site from when they are dropped off,
until they are picked up. Campers must be respectful to the staff, other
campers, and the school property. Everyone must abide by the rules,
use appropriate language, and behave properly and respectfully.
