2019BEAUMONT SCOUT RESERVATION
PARENT AND SCOUTGUIDEBOOK
LETTER
Greetings From Beaumont Scout Reservation,
We have an exciting summer of program ahead of us. We are excited to share with you this guide to help you plan your summer. We hope that this guide is helpful in choosing activities for this summer.
I want to mention two opportunities for our Scouts. First is the opportunity for the youth leadership to attend a second week of camp. We recognize that the Senior Patrol Leader and some of the other youth leaders may not get an opportunity to participate in all of the programs and activities that they are interested in at camp. These leaders will have the opportunity to attend camp at a reduced price of $50 for a second week of camp. Secondly, “A Scout is Thrifty,” Scouts who are at least 14 years old can pay their way to camp by serving as a Counselor in Training for two additional weeks of camp. Counselors in Training get to experience what it’s like to work with staff to deliver the summer camp program.
At Lake Erie Council, we are committed to safety. All of our staff have gone through training to be able to deal with the risks associated with the activities we have at camp. Safety is our number one priority.
We hope that you and your Scout has a great summer.

CAMP WIDE PROGRAMS AND AWARDSSunday Night CampfireA great way to kick of the week and meet the staff. The Sunday night campfire takes place at the Neshkin Amphitheater.
Bow Sheauga Lumberjack GamesThis Tuesday night activity challenges patrols to work together to earn points competing in Lumberjack activities. The winning patrol of the Lumberjack Games will get to stay overnight on Thursday at the recently rediscovered Bow Sheauga campsite.
Cast Iron ChefAdult and Scout teams get to compete to wow the judges of this favorite annual competition. We provide a secret ingredient that you have to incorporate into your best tasting dish. Our “celebrity” judges will discern the best taste, best presented dish.
Beaumont 5KEarly Wednesday morning, the Beaumont 5k begins. Scouts and Adults run the cross country course to race for the fastest time and to be crowned the Beaumont 5k champion.
OutpostOutpost night at Camp Stigwandish is an opportunity for our campers to experience another one of our beautiful properties. Outpost opportunities include: metalwork, service, JumpStart, astronomy, wilderness survival.
Order of the ArrowThe Order of the Arrow is Scouting’s national honor society. Scouts can partici-pate in the Order of the Arrow ice cream social, the Order of the Arrow Call out and Lake Erie Council Scouts who have been elected by their peers can take their ordeal on Thursday night and Friday morning.
Wings of LeadershipScouts and Adults who love The Sizzler are going to love working towards their Wings of Leadership. Wings of Leadership is an award for those who really love to ride The Sizzler.
Tribe of A’chawiThe Tribe of A’Chawi is Beaumont’s Honor Camper program. There are 7 levels Scouts and Leaders can progress through. Join us Monday night for the Tribe of A’Chawi skills trial.
