RULES AND REGULATIONS

ENTRIES: Class fees $20 per class. There will be a post entry fee of $25 if entered after 7pm June 19th. No numbers will be issued without an open check.

COGGINS: Current coggins must be presented to the horse show office for all horses on the grounds.

FEES: Each horse / rider combination will be charged an EMT fee of $5 per day. A $5 office and $5 scholarship fee will be charged per entry. A $25 late fee after deadline, and an open check fee of $15 will be charged for all accounts not closed at the show. Nonmembers of NTHJC will be charged a $20 fee. NTHJC memberships can be paid at the show or on-line at www.nthjc.com. A $25 fee will be charged on all returned checks. Please reference NTHJC Rule 2.9 for failure to pay or returned checks protocol.

EMT: An EMT will be on the grounds during posted schooling and show times.

STALLS AVAILABLE: $50 (includes shavings) per day: Fri 6pm - Sat 2pm / Sat 2pm - Sun end of day. A non-refundable deposit check is required to reserve a stall. Call/text first for availability; limited stalls available. No refunds will be given unless accompanied by a veterinarian's certificate.

SCHOOLING: No schooling Friday. Schooling will be available Saturday after course change from Jumpers, time will be announced closer to show. Sunday schooling will be according to the schedule attached.

DOGS: There will be NO DOGS on the property that are not attached by a leash to a person’s hand.

ATTIRE: On the show grounds, all mounted riders must wear ASTM/SEI approved helmets properly fitted with harnesses securely fastened. No helmet can protect the wearer against all foreseeable injuries. Riders must be properly attired – no chaps. Numbers must be worn and clearly visible. Jackets will be required unless otherwise announced. If jackets are to be waived, a notice will be sent by the evening prior to the show day in which show management will allow riders the option of wearing polo shirts with a collar.

AWARDS: All classes receive a first place prize option and 1st-6th ribbons. All Divisions will be awarded Champion and Reserve ribbons. Trophies for Division Champion will be awarded.

FOOTING: Competition arenas are sand.

CHANGES: Management reserves the right to change, cancel or combine classes, alter courses and do all things necessary to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries. Divisions with less than 3 entries may be canceled.

CROSS ENTRIES: A horse / rider combination may cross enter only into divisions with fence heights of a 6” difference. Walk Trot Poles riders may only cross enter into Walk Trot Cross rails. Walk Trot Cross rails may only cross enter into Walk Trot Canter 18”. Limit riders may NOT show in any classes over 2'. Horse/Rider combos may not cross enter between 2' Open and 2' JrAm divisions.

MEDAL CLASSES: Open to NTHJC members only for the entire show season.  Top 12 point earners for the year will be invited to compete in the Medal Finals at the NTHJC Year End Show.

CLASS SPLIT: All classes, except warm-ups, medals, and specialty classes, with 20 or more entries will be split.

CONCESSIONS: Available from 7:30 am – conclusion of show.

NTHJC Thoroughbred High Point Hunter & Jumper: Entry is free. TB registered name or tattoo # is required. Entry forms available in show office. An entry form must be filled out at each NTHJC show. Champion ribbon awarded and year end points accrue.

NOTICE: Rules of the NTHJC shall generally be influenced by the Rules and Regulations of the USEF, unless such rules are knowingly adapted by the NTHJC to conflict with the USEF. NTHJC Rule 2.13 DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE: In regard to any violation of NTHJC rules and regulations, the NTHJC Board of Directors may invoke sanctions, including revocation or denial of membership and assessment of a fine not to exceed $500.00.

WARNING: Under Texas law (Chapter 87, Civil Practice & Remedies Code), an equine professional is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities.

See belowGamblers Choice Rules: Riders will have 60 seconds to jump as many jumps as they can, in any direction and in any order. Each obstacle will count as 10 points, except for the “Joker” obstacle which will be worth 50 points. No points will be awarded if there is a fault at the fences; if there is a fault at the “Joker” fence, 50 points will be deducted from the total. The “Joker” fence can be jumped a maximum of 2 times during the course. A whistle at 60 seconds will signal the end of the round. The rider with the highest number of points will win.
