WELCOME TO BEAUMONT!
Welcome to the 2019 Philip Oh Memorial Atom Hockey Tournament. Our tournament committee welcomes all players, team officials, and spectators , and once again would like to send a special thanks to the teams that made the trip to join us.
We truly hope that all the players, coaches and parents will have an enjoyable time and when the tournament is over, everyone will travel home safely, with memories that will be treasured forever. Hopefully, new friendships will be made, and previous ones renewed. Our great volunteer crew can answer any questions that come up. I would personally like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to all of our tournament volunteers. Through consistent hard work, commitment and perseverance, each and every one of you have made this hockey tournament a significant life-enhancing element of our personal lives and provided a wonderful and strong sense of social cohesion in our community. Good Luck to everyone, have a great tournament, and most of all have fun! Brian Tancowny President - BAHA Minor Hockey

Philip Oh Memorial Tournament
Philip died tragically on December 10, 1996 in a motor vehicle accident on his way to University to write an exam. Philip was a remarkable young man with a very promising future – he was always friendly, considerate and well-spoken. His sincerity was evident in his big smile. Philip received all of his schooling in Beaumont and was in his third year of Business Administration, majoring in International Business at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Philip enjoyed a variety of sports – his love of hockey began with the CanSkate Program from which he progressed to Tom Thumb and through the years to Midget, All-Star and was called upon by the Beaumont Chiefs on numerous occasions. Philip enjoyed other competitive team sports through school but mostly volleyball. The “Philip Ki Joon Oh Scholarship Foundation” has been established by his loving parents, Paul and Yung Oh. The philosophy of the “Foundation” is to lend support and provide excellent learning opportunities for individuals who demonstrate noteworthy talent and ability who will strive to better society thereby fulfilling Philip’s dreams and goals. The “Foundation” is a non-profit organization which strives to achieve its’ goals toward the enhancement of education, sports and community participation. In honor of Philip Oh, Beaumont Amateur Hockey Association retired his jersey number 7.

Welcome to the 2019 Philip Oh Memorial Atom Tournament. We hope to make this a weekend a memorable one for player’s, coaches and families.
GAMES
All teams will play 4 games. Each game will have 1 hour 30 minutes to be com-pleted. Floods will be between each game. Games will consist of a 5-minute warm up, 3-20 minute run time periods with the final 5 minutes of each period to be stop time. If there is a tie, a 3 person shootout will take place. If a tie re-mains after the third round, a sudden death shootout will follow until a winner is determined. This will be followed with a player, coaches, referee hand shake and Heart & Hustle awards. Tie breaker will be by +/- (goals for minus goals against) then by the least penalty minutes.
POINTS SYSTEM
Points will be determined using the following system: 2 points for a win within regulation time 1 point for the winning team of tied game
0 points for a loss in regulation time
AWARDS
One player from each team will be awarded the Heart & Hustle award after each game. In the medal matches on Sunday one player from each team will be awarded the MVP and one player from each team will be awarded the Heart & Hustle.
These players will be chosen by your own team’s coaches. No player can be chosen more than once.
1st, 2nd, & 3rd place medals will be awarded to the winning teams in each divi-sion after the final games.
OPENING CEREMONIES
The Philip Oh Memorial Hockey Tournament Opening Ceremonies will be held on Arena #1 at 5:00pm, Friday, December 27th. All teams are invited to attend the Opening Ceremonies.

hockey [ˈhäkē] (noun)
A sport where teammates are more than teammates. Friends are
more than friends. The game is more than a game. Brothers.
Sisters. A community. It gives us the opportunity to turn a frozen
pond into memories. A road tournament into a family getaway.
It’s a tradition. It’s a pastime. It is our life.
