June 4th—16th, 2019

This 13 day Holy Land Tour has been specifically

designed for those wishing travel to Israel on a faith based tour.

Day One—Tuesday, June 4th Journey to the Holy Land, as we depart at 1:15 PM and travel non-stop from LAX to Israel.

Day Two—Wednesday, June 5th *CAESAREA*ROMAN AQUADUCT* Arrive Ben Gurion Airport in Tel-Aviv at 1:45 PM. We start our Holy Land Tour with a visit and devotion at Caesarea. The city built by Herod the Great and named for his benefactor, Augustus Caesar. Paul was here many times and, in chains, was sent from here to trial in Rome (Acts 10, 21, 23 and 24). This place is the site where the first conversion to Christianity took place when Peter converted the Gentile Centurion Cornelius. (Acts 10:34-44). Today this is an impressive archaeological park on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, with a Roman Theatre, Hippodrome, Palaces, Roman bathhouses and much more. A most important finding originating from here is the Pontius Pilate stele, proving totally wrong those who deny the truth of the Bible and claim that Jesus was never tried and that the accounts of the Holy Gospel never took place. The more you dig out of the ground – the more the Bible proves to be true! Time permitting we will visit the Roman Aqueduct that brought water down from Mount Carmel and then continue to our beautiful Gai Beach Hotel on the shores of the Sea of Galilee in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day Three—Thursday, June 6th *MT OF BEATITUDES*TABGHA*CAPERNAUM*MAGDALA *MENSA CHRISTI*GINOSAR*RIVER JORDAN* This morning, as we witness the sun rising over the serene Sea of Galilee we will have a short (optional) devotion at sunrise. Then after a hearty Israeli

breakfast we start our sightseeing with a visit to the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the Sermon on the Mount. Continue to Magdala & Tabgha, site of the miracle of the

multiplication of the "loaves and fishes". Proceed to Capernaum, His ministry’s headquarters, to visit the Synagogue where Jesus taught and view the house of Peter's mother-in-law. Next we visit Mensa Christi where Jesus had breakfast with Peter, asking him three times, "Peter, do you love me?" (John 21) We will enjoy an

opportunity here to be close to our Lord, in meditation, song and praise. Then we visit Kibbutz Ginosar where an ancient boat, going back to the time of Jesus, was found. Following this we will sail across the beautiful Sea of Galilee, pause in the middle to reflect on Jesus’ miracles that were performed on this very Sea, teach you Hebrew Folk dances in the sun before arriving at our restaurant for a St. Peter fish lunch. After lunch we will view the Golan Heights/Bashan Heights, then go to a special site

on the River Jordan to baptize those who desire to do this. After a full day, we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day Four—Friday, June 7th *MT CAMEL*VALLEY OF ARMAGEDDON * MEGIDDO *NAZARETH *CANA* We begin this morning again with a sunrise devotion and wonderful breakfast before ascending to the top of Mount Carmel and to view the Jezreel Valley from the beautiful Franciscan Monastery dedicated to Elijah’s triumph over the prophets of baal. Then to the Valley of Armageddon and Megiddo (Revelation 16:16), a chariot city of King Solomon strategically situated at the crossroads of several ancient trade and military routes, the site of many battles through the centuries and where End Times battles will occur. We will walk through the remains of this well-preserved biblical city, exploring the secret tunnel and water system built by King Ahab 3000 years ago. Then, we will bus to Nazareth, home of Joseph & Mary, to visit Mary’s Well. On

the way back to Tiberias we will drive through Cana, the site of Jesus’ First Miracle, "Turning water into wine at the wedding ceremony," returning to our beautiful hotel for dinner and overnight on the Sea of Galilee.

Day Five—Saturday, June 8th *TEL DAN*CAESAREA PHILIPPI*JORDAN RIVER RAFTING*

A Magical Day is in store for us, after enjoying a sunrise devotion on the edge of the Sea of Galilee and a wonderful breakfast, we will travel to the origins of the River Jordan! Today we visit the Biblical Archeological Park and Nature Preserve of Tel Dan. We will walk in this beautiful and peaceful park, beside the Dan River, the largest of the three tributaries to the river Jordan. The waters are cool and clean. “Like a tree planted by Fresh Water” (Psalm 1) is how we feel here. See the city of Dan from the time of the Northern Kingdom of Israel, almost 3000 years ago, and learn about the revolutionary discovery of the Tel Dan Stele that was found here, which also authenticates the Bible. Then we view Caesarea Philippi where Jesus said to Peter, "Upon this rock I build my Church" on our way to an adventure rafting and floating down the Jordan River. Returning to our deluxe hotel for dinner and overnight in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee.

Day Six—Sunday, June 9th *KURSI*BET SHE’AN*GIDEON’S SPRING* QUMRAN* After a last sunrise devotion and breakfast on the Sea of Galilee, we will drive to the east side of the lake, the Golan Heights, and visit Kursi. Here we find a 5th—6th century Byzantine church and monastery dedicated to Jesus’ miracle of healing Legion, and driving the demons into a herd of pigs. (Luke 8: 26—37). We will view the nearby cliff, said to be where the swine fell into the lake. Continuing down to Jericho, we will stop at Bet She'an, a superbly preserved Canaanite, Roman and Byzantine city in the Jordan Valley. Here is where the bodies of King Saul and his son Jonathan were put on the city walls by the Philistines (II Samuel 1, 21-22). Explore the Cardo, Decomanus, Agora, climb up the Tel and view Mt. Gilboa. Nearby, we will visit Gideon’s Spring, where armies gathered prior to battle. It is where Gideon gathered his men before fighting the Midianites (Judges 7). Continue through the Jordan Valley along the beautiful hills of Samaria and

view Jericho, the oldest city on earth. Then onto the Dead Sea region and Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls (which we will view in Jerusalem) were found. We will see the Scriptorium, purification baths of the Essene community that produced the scrolls, and the caves where they hid them. After a full day we will check into the Dead Sea Herods Hotel, for a two night stay, enjoy a swim and beautiful dinner. Day Seven—Monday, June 10th *MASADA*EN GEDI*SWIMING* After breakfast, just short distance from our hotel, the remarkable flat topped mesa of Masada will come into sight, and we will take a cable car ride up to Herod’s amazing Fortress of Masada. This World Heritage site tells the remarkable story of the brave zealots who fought the Romans for the right to worship the one true God of Israel. Walk to the Northern Palace of King Herod the Great, sit and pray in one of the most ancient synagogues in the world, see the breaching point and the Roman Ramp. In addition, we will visit the Byzantine chapel and view the storehouses, Roman baths and other structures that have withstood the tests of time in the world’s lowest & driest place on earth. After seeing this spectacular site, we will drive to En Gedi where David hid from Saul. (1st Samuel 24) Time and weather permitting, we will hike up and view the waterfalls of King David where he wrote many of his Psalms. Then arrive back at our hotel on the Dead Sea to swim, rest, relax and prepare to go up to Zion tomorrow! Day Eight —Tuesday, June 11th *WADI QELT*GOOD SAMARITAN INN*MOUNT OF OLIVES Today we go UP to Zion—to Jerusalem! We can view the curves of the ancient road leading UP to Zion that was used by many to travel to Jerusalem, including King David, King Zedekiah and Yes, Jesus! A 1st century way station for travelers, thought to be the site of Jesus’ parable of

Samaritan, resides on this road. Also the Wadi Qelt (The Valley of the Shadow of Death) from David’s Psalm 23 will come into view. We enter Jerusalem, driving first to the observation point on the Mount of Olives where we will sit and look over at the breath-taking Temple Mount and Old City. Rich will share a message here focusing on the many Biblical events that happened on the Mount of Olives, and possible future events. Then we will check into our home for the next four days, the deluxe hotel, Leonardo Plaza, Jerusalem.

Day Nine —Wednesday, June 12th *ISRAELI MUSEUM*YAD VASHEM* After another amazing Israeli Breakfast, we begin our day with a special highlight visit to the Israeli Museum and view the model of ancient Jerusalem as it looked during the time of Christ. Among the artefacts available to see in the Museum are the (1) Tel Dan Stele, from the city of Dan, the only extra-biblical mention of King David; (2) the bone-box (ossuary) of Caiaphas, the high priest who condemned Jesus; (3) the oldest (from 690 BC) written biblical quotation in existence, (4) the Pontius Pilate Stele from Caesarea and (5) the heel bones of a crucified man. Continuing our focus on history, we will visit Yad Vashem, The World Holocaust Remembrance Center, the ultimate source for Holocaust education, documentation and research.

Day Ten—Thursday, June 13th *HEZEKIAH’S TUNNEL*WESTERN WALL*OLD CITY* After another wonderful Israeli Breakfast we will visit the ancient city of David, where his palace has been identified and a fascinating ongoing excavation in taking place. We walk the secret “tube,” Hezekiah's Tunnel, ending at the Pool of Siloam where Jesus healed the blind man. From there we will go to the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) where we can put prayer request notes into these old stones, the closest the Jews can come to their adored Temple, the one Jesus visited. Near the Western Wall we will view the immense stones from the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD, excavated and found in exactly the same position as they were when the Ro-

man soldiers pushed them over the side while destroying the Temple. From there we can walk into the Old City, see the Roman Cardo in the Jewish Quarter and enjoy the sights and sounds of Old Jerusalem

Day Eleven—Friday, June 14th *TEMPLE MOUNT*POOLS OF BETHESDA*GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE* EARLY this morning we head up to the Temple Mount, Mt. Moriah (where Abraham brought his son Isaac as a sacrifice, where the first and second temples were built, and where today, stands the Golden Dome) and explore this sacred mount. Walk to the Pinnacle where Jesus was tempted by Satan, see the Golden Gates Jesus walked through when He visited the Temple and stand where the Holy of Holies is thought to be. As we walk off the Temple Mount, we will make our way to the Lithostrotos—the Stone Pavement, or Gabbatha (John 19:13), which is literally 30 feet below the present streets of Jerusalem, in the Fortress of Antonia where Pilate made his judgment over Jesus. We will reflect with a devotion about the final moments of Jesus, while standing on this “Holy Ground.” From there we will walk to the Pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the lame man (John 5)and the Crusader Church of St. Ann, the birthplace of Mary. We will enjoy it’s amazing acoustics as we sing and praise the Lord. Then we will walk through St. Stephens Gate/Lions Gate to the Garden of Gethsemane for devotion and prayer in the same place Jesus prayed with His disciples before being betrayed.

Day Twelve —Saturday, June 15th *THE GARDEN TOMB*CITY WALLS* After one more incredible Israeli breakfast we will visit Golgotha and the Garden Tomb. A beautiful quiet place cared for by English missionaries that is possibly a replica of the tomb of Jesus. It is next to the hill traditionally called Gordon’s Calvary or Golgotha and contains a wine press and a carved tomb. After celebrating communion next to the Empty Tomb, we will view Old Jerusalem one more time as we walk on top of the city walls. The afternoon will be free for rest, recreation or shopping and after a last meal in Jerusalem we will head for the airport and our 1:00 AM flight home.
