• Business: Krissy introduces potential rule change. - Proposed Rule change:

Rule 3 - The Game, Section 4 – Mercy Rule Current rule: There is a maximum of 6 runs per team per inning allowed during regular season; except for the final inning. The umpire will determine the final inning based on time and will designate the last inning calling it “open”. This is part of current SPN rules. Proposed rule change: There is a maximum of 6 runs per team per inning allowed during regular season; except for the 5th, 6th, and 7th inning. The umpire will determine the final inning based on time. Rationale: This suggestion was brought forth by the membership to create less pressure regarding game times. This change removes the requirement for the Umpires to determine the last inning in advance.

Feedback: Michelle Gill thinks the opposite affect will happen after hearing rationale. Karie McDougall thinks it may be hard for captains to keep track of.

Vote on proposed rule change – Karen proposed NOT to change rule and Penny seconded. (ALL IN FAVOUR) 95 in attendance ✓ Rule will not be changed.

- Possible Constitution change:

Bylaw 13 - Player Allocation, 13.2 - Seasonal Replacements Current rule: If a playing Member leaves her team prior to August 1st, she must be replaced by an individual with a similar level of ability. The replacement may be either an ‘NVAM - Wait List Only’ or a ‘NVAM – Wait/Spare List’ whose rating is within +/- 3 points of the leaving member’s rating. If no such player is available, the team is not required to replace the leaving member. After August 1st, it is at the discretion of the Co-Captains whether or not that Member is replaced. Replacement players will be assigned by the Registrar. Any Seasonal Replacements will be returned to the Wait List, in their numbered sequence, for the next season. In order to be eligible as a ‘Seasonal Replacement’, the person on the Wait List must have attended a rating session. Proposed rule: Executive to review over the winter and make a proposal at the 2020 Spring Meeting if deemed necessary. Rationale: Team picks are done in a way to ensure balanced teams. When a player leaves a team, it is important to make a player replacement that does not create a significant advantage or disadvantage for that team. In order to maintain the balance, it is suggested players get replace based on group ranking rather than rating number to remain consistent and accurate.

Krissy gives heads up to league for potential 2020 spring change on above Bylaw. BREAK 2020 Committees:
