Presentation Goals
● Share general information about 2019 FCPS Summer Learning opportunities available
to grades K-6.
● Demo the Summer Learning Programs webpages to learn more about program
offerings and registration.
Elementary Institute for the Arts (E-IFTA)
Weekly arts camp for elementary aged students who love to sing, dance, act,
perform, make, and create.
Eligibility: Students currently in grades 3-5
Dates: Session 1: July 8 - 12
Session 2: July 15 - 19
Session 3: July 22 - 26
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Location: Fairfax High School
Tuition: $230 per session
Registration: Online via the Summer Learning website.
Tech Adventure Camp (TAC)Tech Adventure Camp is designed to give students the opportunity to explore
careers and technology as they rotate through eight areas over a two-week
program.
Eligibility: Students currently in grades 5-7
Dates: July 15 - 26
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Location: Fairfax High School
Tuition: $425
Registration: Online via the Summer Learning website.
Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) CampSTEM Camp is designed to give students the opportunity to explore engineering
careers and technology as they rotate through different classes over a one week
program.
Eligibility: Students currently in grades 3-5 and 8-9
Dates: *Session 1: June 24 - 28
*Session 2: July 8 - 12*Session 2 is a repeat of session 1
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Location: Fairfax High School
Tuition: $275
Registration: Online via the Summer Learning website.
Institute for the Arts (IFTA)IFTA is a summer enrichment program for students who are interested in
performing arts, visual arts, and fashion.
Eligibility: Students currently in grades 6-11
Dates: July 1 - 26
Note: no classes July 4 or 5
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Location: Fairfax High School
Tuition: $825
Registration: Online via the Summer Learning website.
Bridge to Kindergarten (B2K)Bridge to K is a summer program for rising kindergartners who were on the
FECEP/HS waitlist and/or who have been identified as not having Pre K
experience. Students have the opportunity to develop executive function skills and
school behaviors through participation in Circle Games and other learning
experiences. This program includes parent involvement opportunities and is
intended to promote a smooth transition to kindergarten for students and
families.
Eligibility: FCPS rising kindergarteners who have little to no pre-K experience
Dates: July 8 - 26
Time: Varies by location; 4 hours in morning
Location: Select FCPS elementary schools

Young Scholars (YS)Young Scholars was designed to increase the proportion of historically
underrepresented students in gifted programs. Students are provided an educational
setting that raises their personal expectations and prepares them for more
challenging and rigorous courses as they advance in grade level.
Eligibility: Identified FCPS Young Scholars currently in grades K-5
Dates: July 8 - 26
Time: Varies by location; 4 hours in morning
Location: Select FCPS elementary schools
Tuition: N/A
Registration: Contact your child’s school for information.
Extended School Year (ESY) ServicesESY provides special education and related services provided beyond the normal
school year for the purpose of providing a free, appropriate public education
(FAPE).
Eligibility: Students in grades PreK-12 whose IEP team decided that the benefits
the student gained during the regular school year will be significantly jeopardized
if the student does not receive ESY services.
Dates: July 1 - 26
Note: no classes July 4 or 5
Time: Varies by location; 4 hours in morning
Location: Select FCPS elementary schools
Tuition: N/A

Refund PolicyRefund requests must be submitted online by the program’s refund deadline. To
request a refund, visit the ACE website and click Request Refund. No paper or e-mail
requests will be accepted. No late requests will be considered.
Credit card payments minus a withdrawal fee will be refunded to the credit card
account. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. The time to process a credit card
refund varies by banks/financial institutions. Other refunds will be made by check and
may take up to 4 weeks to process.
