Acute Care Rehab June 8-9

Head and Neck Cancer July 13

This one-day educational session and lab will review associated outcomes of treatment including surgical/anatomical changes, prosthetic needs and reconstruction implications, TMJ dysfunction/trismus, shoulder and neck impairments, pain, radiation fibrosis, lymphedema, cancer-related fatigue, deconditioning and nutritional deficits. Blood Flow Restrictions July 20

By applying a tourniquet briefly and intermittently to an exercising limb, you can induce significant and substantial

strength, hypertrophy and endurance changes while using a very load. Clinicians taking the course will learn the history and scientific theory behind BFR, as well as how to manipulate protocols to create a local or systemic response, use tourniquets safely, determine individual limb occlusion pressures and apply BFR to rehabilitating patients.

Stroke Impacting the Under-55 Population Aug. 10-11

This class provides clinicians with the information they need to know about motor learning, managing fatigue, treatment of the hemiplegic shoulder and management of hypertonicity to achieve improved outcomes. Lab sessions will focus on the hemiplegic shoulder, movement analysis and gait, as well as case studies in neuroanatomy, comorbitities and home program development.




Lower Extremity Orthopedic and Sports Injuries in the Young Athlete Aug. 17-18

This hands-on, two-day advanced course will provide attendees with an in-depth analysis of lower extremity traumatic and overuse injuries affecting the young athlete.

The course will review the most current techniques to prevent, diagnose and treat injuries unique to the lower extremity in the young athlete. Special emphasis will be placed on the latest surgical and rehab guidelines for patients who have undergone ACL, MPFL and PAO reconstructive surgeries.




Sports Concussions: Evidence-based Course Designed to Maximize Results Aug. 24-25

Attendees will be trained to do a systematic evaluation of patients who have sustained a concussion and provided with tools to improve patient outcomes to return an athlete safely and efficiently to play.




Balance Dysfunction and Intervention: An Evidence-based Course Sept. 14-15

This two-day advanced course will provide participants with the skills to determine the cause of imbalance, employ appropriate outcome measures and implement treatment. Vestibular, neurological and orthopedic causes of imbalance will be discussed, including pathologies such as stroke, MS, Parkinson’s disease, cerebellar dysfunction, total joint arthroplasties, lumbar spine dysfunction and vestibular dysfunction. Special consideration will be given to pathologies such as BPPV, cervicogenic causes of dizziness and imbalance, concussion, TBI and higher-level balance training, and fall risk assessment and intervention.




Gait Training: An Evidence-based Course Combining Manual Therapy, Exercise and Functional Activities Sept. 21-22

This two-day, intermediate-level course will help clinicians analyze impairments in alignment and prioritize which impairment is affecting function. Treatment approaches are aimed at soft-tissue mobilization, flexibility activities, strengthening exercises and proprioceptive activities that will improve gait and mobility in patients.

The missing component of many rehab programs is the coordination between optimizing correct breathing patterns with specific musculoskeletal movements. Stabilization and breathing strategies will be assessed, corrected and progressed utilizing proprioceptively enriched, hands-on labs to promote proper breathing patterns in all patients.

Geriatric Fractures and Joint Replacement: Integrated Rehab Solutions for the Lower Extemity Oct. 19-20

The purpose of this two-day, intermediate-level course is to develop efficient and effective rehab programs for the common lower extremity geriatric dysfunction, utilizing the best available evidence in conjunction with sound application of kinetic chain movement analysis. This will allow the participant to problem-solve both simple and complex movement dysfunction and design and progress conservative and post-op rehab programs.




McKenzie Part D – MDT: Advanced Cervical and Thoracic Spine and Extremities – Upper LimbNov. 21-24

This course focuses on advanced McKenzie MDT principles and practical application for the cervical and thoracic spine and an introduction for the upper limb. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be given access to additional videos of MDT Procedures relevant to Parts A – D curriculum. Attendees must have taken Parts A, B and C.
