The Twitter chats will be geared towards and specific to teachers in a statewide education conversation. Please use #INedchat and #INeLearn.

4.  Fun technology fact: Airless tires for everyday cars might soon here. GM and Michelin have unveiled a prototype of Uptis (Unique Puncture-proof Tire System), a Michelin-made tire intended for passenger cars. It is a mix of composite rubber and resin embedded fiberglass, and in some opinions, not as visually appealing as conventional tires, but seemingly just as comfortable. GM will start testing the Uptis in Michigan late this year on a fleet of Chevy Bolts, and expects the finished version to reach production cars as soon as 2024. While the Uptis won't be completely invulnerable, blowouts, flat tires and irregular wear would be things of the past. Read more of the article here.

Weekly Wellness Tip:

Don’t forget your Dental Health!

The month of October is commonly known in the health and wellness world as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. While that is a very important topic, October is also national Dental Hygiene Month!

This month, I am challenging you to focus on your mouth! Dental professionals suggest that we should be regularly brushing our teeth twice a day. Along with that, dental professionals also suggest that we should floss at the minimum once a day.

Here are some benefits of flossing:• Remove bacteria from the mouth• Prevent tartar build up• Prevent bad breath• Prevent gum and periodontal disease

In order to help you be more intentional with your brushing and flossing, I have created a challenge for you! If you complete this challenge, and turn in the tracking sheet to me at [email protected] or courier to the Annex building by November 5th, you will be awarded 1 wellness point!

Additional Reminders:• Healthcare Provider forms and Non-tobacco user affidavits are due on November 1st

(just 4 weeks away)!!• Wellness credits and Online Health Risk Assessment are due by December 1st!• The last 2 EACS flu shot events are on 10.08.19 at New Haven Intermediate from
