Cubing Competition - IIT KANPUR

Paarth Chhabra of Class XII B won IIT Kanpur Open 2019 Cubing Competition at Techkriti, the

Annual technical and entrepreneurship festival of IIT Kanpur, organized from 7th-10th March 2019.

He remained meritorious in 9 out of 12 events, including 6 golds and 3 silvers. He received

certificates of merit, medals and cash prizes.

DELF Junior Examination The French Institute / Embassy of France in India in collaboration with the Delhi Public School Society conducted the DELF Junior Examination from 04th to 06th December 2019 at DPS Vasant Kunj. The three levels of this international certification witnessed 178 students from various DPS schools of Delhi and NCR who appeared for this exam. The participating schools were DPS R K Puram, DPS Rohini, DPS Noida, DPS International, DPS Greater Noida, DPS Bulandshahr, DPS Sonepat, DPS Karnal and DPS Vasant Kunj. To conduct this exam, trained examiners from several universities and schools were invited at DPS Vasant Kunj. 35 students of DPS Vasant Kunj appeared for this prestigious exam. 16 students gave A1, 11 students appeared for A2 and 08 students attempted the B1 level. Siya Bhutani (A1) and Ananya Behera (A2) scored 92.5%, the highest mark in these two levels and Ronica Bajaj scored 85% in B1

'Language Fest' An Inter School Competition 'Language Fest' was organised by Delhi Public School, R K

Puram on 21.12 2019. Students from DPS Vasant Kunj had participated in Hindi and

Sanskrit events and secured several positions .

Tanishi Chakraborty of Class VIII received the First Prize in Hindi Bhajan.

Saubhagya Mohapatra of Class X was awarded the Third Prize in Hindi Ghazal

Competition.

Anupriya Sharma, Pranav, Aayam Mishra, Zaina Fatima, Shriya Pant and Aarav Mishra

participated in the Sanskrit Qawwali Competition and secured First Prize.

Delhi NCR Regional Brain Bee-2020.

Sukriti Asija of Class 11 bagged the 2nd Runner-up trophy for Brain Bee( a Neuroscience Quiz)

at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram organised by Delhi NCR Regional Brain Bee-on

15th Decmber 2019.

VANIJYA-2019

EVENT DATE: 16th November 2019

A team of 9 students from Delhi Public School, Vasant participated in the Annual

Inter-DPS Commerce Festival- Vanijya-2019, hosted by DPS Chandigarh. It was held

at grand scale with all the DPS branches participating, out of which only the top 20

teams qualified for the onsite events.

The event comprised of a grand total of eight events, three of which were online

whereas the remaining five were conducted onsite and were based on economics

and aspects of commerce. Only participation certificates were awarded for the

online events (Battleground, Fascination and Techwizard).

The students of DPS, Vasant Kunj outdid themselves at the onsite events and bagged

the Second Prize in FREAKONOMICS-A New-Style Intellectual Rap as well as the

Second Place for Overall Best Performance for onsite events.

Maths Crusade- the inter school Maths competition

Delhi Public School , Vasant Kunj won the Overall Second Runners Up trophy in Maths

Crusade- The inter school Maths competition held on 14th December 2019 at Delhi Public

School RK Puram. Akshaya Jha of IX C and Zaina Fatima of VIII C won the first position

in Maths Model Making competition . Vaagish Nangia of XI A and Aastha Khandelwal of

XI H won the third position in Maths Quiz.

Tangentia Prizes

Vagish Bhushan Nangia of Class XI and Aryan Baibaswata of Class IX got 1st prize in Maths Quiz. Also Zaina Fatima and Vaishnavi of class VIII got 2nd prize in String Art.

DOE District Level Instrumental Music Competition

Our school participated in the DOE organized District Level Instrumental Music Competition at Sadhu Vaswani School on the 19th of October. Siya Pota won the First Prize in the Senior category girls (IX - XII). Aarush Thapliyal won the First Prize in the Junior category boys (VI - VIII). Sahil Sharma won the Second Prize in the Senior category boys (IX - XII).

Annual German Language Festival, Namaste Deutschland

The Goethe Institut, New Delhi organised the Annual German Language Festival, Namaste Deutschland at DPS Gurgaon, Sector 45 on 19th October 2019. 1500 German language learners from 60 schools of Delhi NCR participated in the event. DPS Vasant Kunj stood first in the Goethe Super Cup Football Anthem Competition. The German song was written, composed and choreographed by the Team of 5 students comprising of Aditri Srivastava and Vani Ahuja of class 10 and Malhar Dutta, Kavish Kanwar and Divisha Gupta of class 8.

SIPA festival and Umbrella Festival in Indonesia in September ,2019. It was indeed a proud moment for

Saisha Gupta of Class VIII participated in Double Dutch Contest World 2019 - an

international rope skipping competition held at Tokyo on August 3rd 2019. She brought

laurels by standing Third in the Junior Division Speed category

Zonal Level, Instrumental Music Competition(DOE)-2019

Our School Participated in the Zonal Level, Instrumental Music Category organised by DOE on 27th August

2019 , at Army Public School, Shankar Vihar. Siya Pota of class X won first Prize in the senior girls percussion

category. Arush Thapliyal of class VIII won the first Prize in the Junior Boys percussion category. Sahil

Sharma of class XII won the second prize in the senior Boys Swar Category. These winners have qualified for

the Inter Zonal level of the instrumental Music competition to be organised by DOE.

Delhi Police Public School organized an inter-school competition – AROMA 2019, from 1st to 3rd August 2019.

Avani singhal, Naveya Jain, Adya Tewari, Ankit and Khushi of Class IV won the Third Prize in the event – Tale

with a Twist. In the Mathematics Model making event, Yashvik Gupta of Class IX, Niesshka Barathi of Class

IX and Tanishga of Class XI won the Second Prize.Presha Choudhary of Class XI bagged the Third Prize in the

Solo Dance Competition. Tanishi Charwarti of Class VIII secured the First Position in the Solo Song

Competition. Our budding artist, Shreyan Dev of Class VIII won the Third Prize in Kalavrind – the art

competition. Also, Kavya Vignesh of Class X bagged the Third Prize in the same segment.

Rishit Jain and Ishaan C. Saxena of Class XII won the Platinum Interact Video award for

incredible service during the year 2018-2019 at District Interact Recognition & Awards on 3rd July

2019 held at Sanskriti School.

ANOTHER FEATHER ADDED IN OUR CAP!!

An Inter-school Competition “Junior Shri Debate 2019” was organised by The Shri Ram School, Moulsari

Avenue on April 30, 2019 on the topic, “Social Media has done more harm than good”. Delhi Public School,

Vasant Kunj bagged the ‘Runners-up Trophy’ beating eight other prestigious schools from Delhi NCR

region. Aanya Verma and Ananya Gupta represented the team from class 8.

Goenkan Grandeur

Goenkan Grandeur was organized by G.D. Goenka School Vasant Kunj from 24th April to

26th April 2019. The students of our school bagged the Second Position in the Western Dance Segment.

Echoes Naad Ninaad 2019

The students of classes VI to XII participated in Echoes 2019, organized by DPS R. K. Puram on 27th and 28th

April 2019. They bagged the Third Prize in the Western Group Song category. DPS Vasant Kunj was awarded

the Overall Trophy at the event.

Mad Over Maths

An Inter-School Competition “Mad Over Maths” was organized by The French Embassy from October 2018

to March 2019 as an Online Competition followed by Onsite Competition. This was introduced as an online

competition in which students from various Indian and French schools came together online to constitute a

team. Three students of DPS Vasant Kunj participated in this event as three different teams, under the

guidance of Ms. Himani Asija.

The team had to solve the set of problems given to them by the French Embassy collaborate as an online

team and submit the solution by a due date. Prisha Jain of Class XII qualified for the final round which was

an offline event, organized by and held at the French Embassy. Prisha Jain exhibited a splendid performance

and was awarded the First Prize as a sponsored trip to Paris.

Triveni

An Interschool competition ,'Triveni' was organised by DPS Bulandshahr on 20th April 2019. Siya Pota of

Class XD participated in Sanskrit Shloka Recitation Commpetition and Noor of Class XD participated in Hindi

Poetry Recitation. Siya Pota was awarded the First prize in Sanskrit Recitation.
