So here we are in our last week of the first semester of 2018 – I can’t believe how quickly this year is going! I hope all the kids have a fantastic 3 weeks off and that some of you parents are fortunate enough to take time off with your kids. I will be going on long service leave from week 2 of next term until the end of week 7. Sharon, our Assistant Principal will be stepping up to take on the principal role during that time. Staffing Martha Tozer has chosen to go on long service leave for term 3. We have been very fortunate in securing a replacement teacher. Meaghan Jones will be teaching the Year 5 students in D3 for the ten weeks over the term. Meaghan is a born and bred local, and extremely enthusiastic to join us next term. Sports Day Congratulations to Sattler, our 2018 winning team! Thank you to Rob Dunbar for organising another successful sports day. And of course a big thank you to all the staff, parents and students who helped Rob out in the background organising tabloid events, sourcing and preparing fruit for the kids, timetabling support staff, lane marking, preparing the oval for the day …. and the list goes on! I must also thank the SEDA students in particular, they did an outstanding job and we really do appreciate all their efforts. Well done to all the kids for their beautiful sportsmanship, it never ceases to amaze me how well-mannered and friendly the Bees Creek kids are. It was so lovely to see so many of our D block students running alongside their fellow students, for encouragement, as they neared the end of their race. Colour Fun Run Great to see so many children turn up to school this morning with their (old!) white shirts, ready and excited for the colour fun run. We had fun getting showered with colour. Look out for more photos in our FB page. Thank you Thank you to Madam Speaker, Kezia Purick MLA for your kind donation of a weekend HotPass to the V8’s. S tuden t s w i th 100% attendance went into the draw. Congratulations to Tannah Crockett

The V8’s came to town On the 15th of June, 4 students from year 5 and 6 were randomly selected to experience the V8 Supercars. We got to meet the Hot Wheels drivers, have a free lunch in the Chief Minister's marquee, hold crocodiles and meet some local drivers. One of these drivers is former Bees Creek student Olivia Agostini who races in the Holden HQ class. The students got to jump in her car and pretend they were real racers!
