At YMCA Day Camps, kids play outdoors! “Spending time outdoors is essential to every child’s development, health, and well-being. It builds a connection to our rich natural and cultural heritage. Kids connected to nature grow up caring for the Earth and helping to conserve biodiversity.” - Ontario Children’s Outdoor Charter, 2014.

It’s All About the Value BeadsAt YMCA Day Camps, Value Beads play an important role as a sign of character and personal achievement. As a form of recognition, Value Beads promote positive behaviour and are worn as a constant reminder of what we value as a camp community. Throughout the week, Value Beads are awarded to individuals for demonstrating the YMCA core values of Friendship, Caring, Honesty, Diversity, Social Inclusion, Responsibility, Respect, Leadership, and Excellence.

YMCA Day Camps offer children and youth the opportunity to participate in fun and engaging activities. Camps are designed to spark imagination and build confidence, independence, and communication skills. All participants will have the opportunity to create positive peer and adult friendships.

In accordance with YMCA Healthy Child Development principles, participants will learn physical literacy skills and complete daily physical activity requirements. Camps will offer international activities, games, hands-on learning, skills-development, craft activities, swimming, and more.

We will motivate our campers to practice the YMCA core values of Friendship, Caring, Honesty, Diversity, Social Inclusion, Responsibility, Respect, Leadership, and Excellence through our Value Bead program. Campers will have the ability to earn Value Beads each day throughout their week in camp.

YMCA Financial Assistance available:We believe in equality of opportunity for all members of the community - regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, religion, or economic circumstance. Through the YMCA Opportunity Fund, the YMCA membership and program experience is available to families regardless of their ability to pay the full fees. Visit our website or your local centre and ask how you can get started! If you know someone who could benefit from this program, please let them know.

Financial Assistance is made possible by the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign:As a charity, the YMCA ensures that no one is turned away because of inability to pay. The Strong Kids Campaign is the major annual fundraising campaign of the YMCA. Funds raised in the campaign help over 9,000 people access YMCA programs and membership every year. YMCAs assist approximately 22% of YMCA members with programs such as accommodation in transitional housing, emergency child care, swimming lessons, summer day camps, and programs for at-risk youth.
