Budget Planning ToolsWhy plan a budget?
What does this mean for your unit? You can use the council popcorn sale to fund your entire year’s worth of activities. Imagine being able to have great events, campouts, and have every boy go to summer camp without asking the family for any money. It’s possible with popcorn.
In other sales, the average sales per scout was about $300 and some units achieved $1500 per scout average! That’s enough for at least summer camp and could fund a high adventure program.
Use a planning spreadsheet, accompanied with your annual program plan to evaluate your yearly expenses and establish a goal selling amount for each scout to achieve and your year will be a great success!

Selling MethodsSuccessful Popcorn sales are a mixture of the following 4 selling
methods! Units should plan to utilize all 4 methods to get the most out of their sale and better deliver the Scouting Program in their
unit!
This sale is designed to sell popcorn that your unit popcorn kernel signs out and picks up at a district warehouse. Then, at a location of your choice, you and the
Scouts sell the popcorn directly to the public. Suggested locations could include grocery stores, malls, video stores, or any area
with a large number of people. Popcorn from this sale will be returnable if the unit is unable to sell it (must be returned in complete cases only, and in sellable condition) If you have excess popcorn from the Show and Sell sale, you may either return it for credit by no later than November 3rd, OR roll it over into your traditional Take Order
Sale.
If you need more popcorn during your show and sell sale, we will have more product available at both Service Centers. Orders must be placed through [email protected] or by calling 608-310-7300.
NOTE: Glacier’s Edge Council reserves the right to require payment for additional popcorn ordered for show and sell.
Show and Deliver
Take Order Sale
Online Sales
This is the best way to increase popcorn sales, The Scouts sell the product, deliver it to the customer, and collect the money all in one trip. Your unit may plan a “Blitz Day” and go to a neighborhood as a group. Split the boys into a couple of Scouts per group and start going door to door. The Scouts take an order form and product to the door. They show the customer the sale flier that includes all the products available to purchase. Once they receive an order, they collect the money, and then go to the car, get the product, and deliver it immediately. This sale is very favorable to customers because they don’t have their popcorn delivered at a later date.
Show and Sell
This sale is the most well-known way for your unit to raise funds. The Scouts in your unit take orders on a form for different varieties of popcorn and then deliver them to the customers at a later date. The forms from all Scouts are turned in to your unit popcorn kernel and only one unit order is placed. The popcorn is picked up by the unit kernel and distributed to the boys who made the sales. Remember, more Scouts, knocking on more doors, grows your sale and helps you grow Scouting.
The unit kernel registers their sellers on www.campmasters.org. This will give the Scout a “seller ID”. Send an email out to friends and family and they can use the seller ID to order product and have it delivered right to them.

Online SellingCONTINUE TO EARN FUNDS BY SELLING POPCORN ONLINE!
SALES WILL START ON 8/1/2018 AND GO TO 11/17/2018www.popcornordering.com

Step 2: Click “Council and Unit Ordering” – log in using your user id and password
Step 3: Click on “Admin” at the bottom of your screen (in the middle)
Step 4: Click “Scout” – check the list to see if this is a new Scout, and then click “Add” You will need to enter all the information in the required fields Scout information, including valid e-mail address. Unit Leader will assign a Username and password. Each must be UNIQUE. A 10 digit “Key Code” will also be displayed on the screen & will be the Key Code for the Scout you are entering. Click “update”

Step 6: Scout can now log-in to www.popcornordering.com and e-mail customers his Key Code. The Key Code is used to track Scouts sales and is how they receive credit for all online sales. If they do not give their Key Code to the customer, they will not receive credit for the sale.
Step 7: Unit Leader and the Scout will each have the ability to log in later to track their on line sales.
Step 8: Customers will pay for product online with their credit card, and their order will be shipped directly to their home.
Step 9: You will receive credit for your sales from your Council based on the online sales commission structure.
Step 10: The Unit Leader will combine the online sales with traditional popcorn sales to calculate “prizes”.
On average, 70% of all product sales go to Local ScoutingSite access will be available through www.popcornordering.com or www.campmasters.org
The majority of the sales will still be generated through the traditional method of selling.
