Shell is one of the largest leaseholders and producers over a four-county area in the Appalachia Basin. Shell’s presence in Pennsylvania includes approximately 500,000 acres in lease hold for unconventional drilling operations in the north central portions of Pennsylvania, where we drill and produce gas from the Marcellus and Utica formations. Shell is also building a major petrochemicals complex north of Pittsburgh.
