SHELTER PROGRAMSFamilies stay at CPAF’s safe and confidential shelters while they move from crisis to safety and healing. Low-income survivors are linked to public benefits and learn financial literacy skills. Children receive supportive services to help grow into healthy adults, breaking the cycle of violence.

Transitional ShelterAs of March 2017, CPAF operates 2 of only 3 transitional programs serving the API population in Southern California.

4,111 individuals attended CPAF’s presentations and trainings.

Emergency ShelterCPAF operates the only emergency shelter in Southern California that specializes in addressing the needs of domestic violence survivors in the API community.

24-HOUR HOTLINE & INTERVENTIONCPAF operates the only Asian and Pacific Islander (API)-language crisis hotline for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Southern California, and the only rape crisis center tailored for API survivors state-wide.

fter more than 17 years as partners serving survivors of domestic violence, Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) and Asian Pacific Women’s Center (APWC) integrated to enhance our capacity to serve the diverse

Asian and Pacific Islander communities of Southern California.

As a unified organization, we look forward to continuing to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through linguistically-appropriate and culturally-specific services. We thank you for your generosity as we embark on our new chapter together.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH & ENGAGEMENTThis year, CPAF helped lead the movement to increase language access and build capacity in the community, both locally and state-wide.

Prevention Program154 youth engaged in learning about healthy relationships, communication and building violence-free communities, a

77% increase over the previous year.

CPAF responded to 4,640 crisis calls in 22 languages, a 20% increase over the previous year.

In December 2016, CPAF’s Community Center moved to a larger facility in a more easily-accessible Mid-Wilshire location.

In March 2017, CPAF integrated with sister agency APWC, adding 24 beds to its Transitional Program.

A state-wide Multi-Year Language Access Resources (MYLAR) Project training CPAF co-conducted in Petaluma, CA.

In December 2016, CPAF completed a comprehensive renovation of its Emergency Shelter facility’s kitchen.
