EXPERT CARE TAILORED TO GUESTS WITH ALZHEIMER’S AND DEMENTIA

Expert care tailored to guests with Alzheimer’s and dementiaOur staff receive training focused specifically on providing care to guests with Alzheimer’s and dementia. So you can relax and leave the care to us. We offer round-the-clock on-call nursing care and our centres are fully accessible, with optional specialist equipment including hoists, profiling beds and airflow mattresses.

At Revitalise, you can be rest assured that our friendly nurses have the expertise necessary to meet your care needs. All of our holiday centres are regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and our registered nurses and Holiday Care Assistants are on-call all day and night.

Our nurses will chat with you before your holiday about your medical history and current care plan, as well as your personal preferences, in order to provide the highest quality support.

GOOD TO KNOW

Good to know... How much spending money will we need?Guests will need money for entrance fees to local attractions, the bar and the gift shop. Most guests find around £75 per holiday to be sufficient.

Can I book now and pay later? You can pay in instalments and spread the cost to make it a little bit easier to pay for your break. All we need at the time of booking is a deposit of just £180 per person. After your deposit, you have up to six weeks before the start of your holiday to pay the rest of the balance.

When do I arrive? Our Alzheimer’s breaks are 7 nights, starting on a Saturday.

Do I need insurance? We strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance, as cancellation fees apply if you are unable to come for any reason. There are a number of options available to you; the following are examples:

Can I get an airflow mattress? Yes, we can provide an airflow mattress for a supplement of £40 for up to 7 nights.

Do I have to pay extra for nursing care? Our prices include the cost of personal care, but exclude the nursing care cost (the Registered Nursing Care Contribution rate). Revitalise recovers the cost of nursing care from the local Clinical Commissioning Group where applicable (see booking form for further details). However, if you are in receipt of an NHS Continuing Healthcare Package we cannot claim for this on your behalf and therefore the cost is additional.

What do I do about medication? Our nurses are happy to administer any medication. Please ensure it is in its original packaging with the correct typewritten or printed labelling. Please bring enough medication to last your entire holiday.

Joan Brander Memorial FundThis fund was set up in memory of our founder Joan Brander MBE. It provides extra financial support to those who have not enjoyed a Revitalise break in over 12 months, or have not stayed with us before, and may need some help to afford a respite holiday with Revitalise.

Regular respite for adults with Alzheimer’s and their loved ones is a necessity. Respite holidays significantly improve health, well-being and personal relationships with loved ones. To make respite more accessible, we set up our own fund, the RS Fund.* This offers financial help to guests who are unable to access full statutory funding. To request your application form or for further information please call 0303 303 0145.

Local Authority fundingYour Local Authority may be able to fund part or the full cost of your break through direct payments, personal budgets or respite vouchers. Simply call your local authority for an assessment today. Alternatively, please feel free to call us and we can point you in the right direction.
