Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Merry Christmas! December is such a busy month of the year. We start the new church year with
Advent, we celebrate Christmas, and then prepare to meet the start of a new calendar year. Phew,
there is a LOT going on! But in the midst of all of the busyness, this is one of my favorite times of
the year, and we have so many gifts from God to celebrate. Here are just a few:
- As I write this, we are preparing for our 17th Bethlehem Walk! This is such a huge blessing to
our community and has become an integral part of so many people’s Christmas celebration!
- We do miss Katie Otto, but I am SO thankful for Lindsey Bucciffero, Gary Kloess, Nick Bedell,
and Lydia Preuss for stepping up to serve our youth with events and Bible studies. You are a
BLESSING to all of us! We will be meeting in January to look at what our plan for serving our
youth will be going forward.
- Our Advent services on December 12 and 19 are always amazing, and the school kids do such
a wonderful job of singing and presenting the Good News.
- December 13 will be a BLAST as we gather at Prospect Park in Park Ridge to sing Christmas
songs from 6-8pm. We will provide Hot Chocolate, but please feel free to bring your own
beverages and snacks.
- We will be having Christmas Eve services at 5pm and 9pm and Christmas morning service at
10am.
Take some time to reach out to your neighbors and share the joy of Christ this season! Your
Presence is a Present!
In Christ,
Pastor Matt Hoffmann

Congratulations to our boys who received 3rd place in the Volleyball State Tournament. We are so proud of
their accomplishments, dedication and hard work. The boys’ team was coached by Mr. Rundblad and Mr.
Sender. The team consisted of our 8th graders: Connor, Luke, Jake, Jonathan, Kevin, Steven, Ryan and
Artur, and our 7th grader student Daniel. Jonathan(Grade 8) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
What a blessing to see to our preschool, prekindergarten and kindergarten families join together to thank
God for the many blessings that He has given us. The student shared songs of Thanksgiving and prepared a
taste of Thanksgiving for over 250 guests. Praise be to God!!!

One of the joys of Christmas is music, and we are blessed with it at St. Andrews!
Candlelight Christmas Eve 5:00 This service is well suited to families. Arrive a little early to hear a prelude ofChristmas music for piano. We will sing traditional hymns and carols and our wonderful contemporary praise teamwill sing during the service.
Candlelight Christmas Eve 9:00 Prelude music will feature soloists and organ and St. Andrews Choir will leadour worship. At the end of both of our Christmas Eve services, all will be invited to gather around the altar to sing“Silent Night”.
Christmas Day 10:00 a.m. This festive service will be led by St. Andrews Choir and Brass. The prelude music willfeature brass and organ.
I look forward to our singing together during this holy season!
Soli deo gloria!
David Christiansen, Minister of Music
