Roslyn Packer Theatre Walsh Bay boasts an outstanding harbourside location coupled with stunning contemporary industrial design. One of Australia’s leading theatrical venues, Roslyn Packer Theatre is located a stone’s throw away from Barangaroo, the Headland Park and The Rocks, and is a significant landmark within the Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.Located on the Ground Floor, the Richard Wherrett Studio encapsulates the romance and history of Walsh Bay. Showcasing the grandeur of yesteryear with high ceilings, historic and rustic brickwork and ironbark beams, retaining many of the details of this historic working building. A very versatile space, the Richard Wherrett Studio is available for small to medium wedding ceremonies and receptions on Sundays and selected Saturdays. The Richard Wherrett Studio is perfect for private dining and intimate lunch or dinner receptions.Walsh Bay Kitchen is also available for intimate standing cocktail or seated weddings. With both semi-private and private dining rooms, the moody and romantic settings are perfect for your modern wedding.

Short Stay Accommodation

If you require short stay accommodation, Pier One Sydney Harbour is a 15min walk from the Roslyn Packer Theatre, in the Walsh Bay Precinct. Offering breathtaking views of the water, the hotel integrates heritage with contemporary chic and is perfect for delegates or visitors alike. Pier One can offer your wedding guests a 10% discount off the best available rate, subject to availability. Roslyn Packer Theatre Venue Staff can introduce you to the Pier One team if required.

Long Stay Accommodation

If you require long stay accommodation in an apartment hotel, Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Harbourside is conveniently located at King Street Wharf close to the new Barangaroo and several attractions. Offering a quintessential experience, Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Harbourside can offer a range of one or two bedroom apartments or studio rooms to suit your needs.

Accommodation

If you choose to use Decorative Events for any other styling, such as table decorations, flowers or furniture, you can receive a further 10% discount on all services. Just ask your Event Manager for an introduction. It is possible for you to bring music or entertainment of your choice to perform on the day. The Roslyn Packer Theatre Event Managers cannot organise entertainment for you but will be able to assist you should you wish to bring your own. Additional costs may apply, please speak to your Event Manager for more information.

Decorative Events are the preferred supplier of the Roslyn Packer Theatre and will be able to assist you in ensuring that your event looks and feels perfect. If you choose one of our seated ceremony packages, the chairs and tables will be arranged by Decorative Events and includes a discount. Your Event Manager will organise the delivery and set up of these items, all we need are your choices!

Can we have candles or open flames? Candles can be used but must be contained in a votive, vase or hurricane shade.

Can the venue organise our entertainment? Roslyn Packer Theatre Event Managers cannot organise any entertainment for your ceremony or reception.

Will security be provided?Security is generally not required at the Roslyn Packer Theatre. If you could like a security guard your Event Manager can book one (fee $600 inc GST).

Is there parking available? Metered Street Parking is available on Hickson Rd. The Interpark Bond Store One is the closest parking station (26 Hickson Rd). There is also a Wilson Parking at Barangaroo Point.

What are the options for public transport?Public ferry, train and bus services operate to and from The Rocks and Circular Quay. Roslyn Packer Theatre is a 15 minute walk from Circular Quay and Wynyard. 311, 324, and 325 Bus Services have been extended into Walsh Way from October 2015. The 311 bus stops at Towns Place and Hickson Road, Walsh Bay. The 324 and 325 buses terminate in Hickson Road, Walsh Bay.Taxis regularly service Hickson Road and can collect and drop off right outside Roslyn Packer Theatre.

Are we able to bump in earlier? All events are allocated two hours to bump in prior to the event, as per the event agreement. Additional time to bump in or out is to be requested, and will be approved based on availability. An hourly rate applies.

What is the street address of the venue? What should I put on my invitations?You should list the venue as: Richard Wherrett Studio, Roslyn Packer Theatre Walsh Bay, 22 Hickson Rd, Walsh Bay.

Is the venue hired exclusively?Yes. Roslyn Packer Theatre can only host ceremonies and receptions on days where there are no performances in the theatre, which makes your hire exclusive.

Where is the closest accommodation?The closest accommodation to the Roslyn Packer Theatre is Pier One. Adina Apartment Habourside is located at King St Wharf. There are many hotels in The Rocks, which is a short walk from the Walsh Bay Precinct.

Can I organise my own catering?No, Roslyn Packer Theatre has a exclusive hospitality partner, Trippas White Group. We can put you in contact with their Event Sales team for more information on their packages.

How do I confirm my wedding date?Wedding dates are confirmed with a deposit payment of 20% of the package price, and a signed contract. The balance will be invoiced two months prior to your wedding and must be paid by the month prior.

Do you do Friday weddings?Yes, ask us for more details on package prices.

Can my wedding celebrant use your microphone?Yes, a lapel microphone for your celebrant, and a radio microphone for your readings are included in the package price.

Can we leave items to be collected after our event?Unfortunately no, all items must be taken with you on the night. Roslyn Packer Theatre is a very busy performance venue, so all equipment and items must be removed when you bump out.

Do you have an operational curfew?Yes, Saturday lunch bookings must finish at 5pm. Evening reception packages allow for the event to finish at 10.30pm however this may be extended slightly for an additional fee. Ask us for more details.

Can I extend the package?Yes, but additional charges will apply.
