Excessive Force

• Player has far exceeded the necessary use of force and is in danger of injuring opponent

• Must be sent off and issued a red card

Direct Free Kick

o Holds an opponent

o Spits at an opponent

o Impedes an opponent with contact

o Handles the ball deliberately

Handling

o Deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with hand or arm

oMovement of hand towards ball

oDistance between opponent and ball

oPosition of hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement

Indirect Free Kick

o Touches ball with hands after receiving it directly from a throw-in by teammate

Free Kick Location

o An indirect free kick is taken from the place where the offense occurred

o In defensive goal area

oKick may be taken from any point inside
