The Atlanta Blaze faces off against the Chesapeake Bayhawks after losing both

matchups in 2016. The Bayhawks are coming off a one-goal win over the Charlotte

Hounds, their third consecutive one-goal game to start the season. The Blaze’s

defense will have their hands full with Midfielder Myles Jones (16 points) and

Attackman Garrett Thul (11 points), who anchor a strong Bayhawks offense.

However, Adam Ghitelman and company finished the second half of the Lizard game

by holding All-Star Paul Rabil scoreless and the rest of New York’s offense to just 5

goals, no small feat against a strong Lizard team.

HEAD COACH DAVID HUNTLEY

David Huntley is in his second season as Head Coach of the Atlanta Blaze, after

resuming coaching duties amidst the 2016 season. Coach Huntley was the director of

the 2014 World Champion Canadian Men’s National Team and has coached Team

Canada in the World Championships five times. Huntley has spent 10 seasons

coaching in the NLL and 6 seasons coaching MLL. Coach Huntley is a member of the

John Hopkins (his alma mater) All-Time Team as well as a Hall of Fame inductee.

Huntley also holds residency in the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame, National US Lacrosse

Hall of Fame and Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame.
