Our purpose
The regional board supports IABC primarily by providing governance, administrative functions and development support to chapters, chapter leaders and members-at-large.

• Endemic volunteer leadership fatigue• Strained financials • Drastic decline in membership• Little content for members to engage with• Few opportunities for networking• Past Chair role vacant

Financial highlights
•Drastic reduction in overheads•EuroComm venue sponsored•Regional portion of membership dues increased from $20 to $60•Cash injection expected from closure of French chapter (currently in trust for 2 years)

Decline stopped and a great momentum has been created

– not pursued this term– awaiting outcome of IABC’s international membership strategy

• Promoted and supported local chapter events• Revitalised our shared speaker bureau with online sign-up• Series of free webinars (x6 – one every two months)• Held open space event in Brussels, Dec 2016• Active online job board• Competition - comp registration for World Conference

Desired outcomes: leaders feel connected to global body; IABC more aware of regional challenges
• Council of Regions – monthly calls and in-person meetings– input into international strategy and projects– global selection committees

• 27-28 March 2017 - London, UK• THEME: “Transformation: adapt, invent, evolve”• Hosted by Instinctif, London• Concerted marketing & promotions effort• 2 keynotes, plenary sessions, 3 workshops,
careers panel, themed parallel streams, Rapido• Photographer, live graphic artist,
event app, live twitter wall, book fair• 95 attendees from 13 countries • Profit of £4,600 on the event• 91% positive rating overall
