Begonia T REX ‘Stardust’ from Terra Nova Nurseries is made up of fresh green, burgundy and violet foliage, which is stippled and spotted with cream-colored dots. The leaves are medium-to-large-sized, very showy and sometimes spiraled, and the color varies with the temperature, but is always beautiful. What makes this

marvelous plant of interest in gardens and landscapes includes its large, full, shrubby, and mounding habit; hardiness zones of 9-11; ability to thrive in part or full shade; ability to be shipped cool; and of course, its galaxy of colors. ‘Stardust’ also serves well as an interior plant.

BIDENSYellow is a sunny addition to the Beed-

CALADIUMAutumn Beauty is a chartreuse fancy leaf with maroon veins. When Autumn Beauty from Bates Sons & Daughters is grown in the shade, it keeps a chartreuse color. However, when it is grown in full sun, it develops a rust-colored overlay on the leaves. It is a very striking contrast. This is one of the oldest caladium varieties no longer grown that we have brought back into production. De-eyeing is recommended for 4” and 6” pots. It was released for sale in 2017.

Fiesta is a short fancy leaf caladium with bright white leaves and thick red veins. Fi-esta has many leaves and does not require de-eyeing. It makes a nice full pot for 4, 6 and 8-inch containers. It performs well in sun or shade conditions. This is a Univer-sity of Florida release, but Bates Sons & Daughters is currently the only caladium farm that has it in production.

Flamingo is fancy leaf caladium with

a neon pink center and a bright green border. It will perform very well in the full sun. Uses include all container sizes and landscape plantings- sun or shade. De-eyeing recommended for 4 and 6-inch pots. A Bates Sons & Daughters exclu-sive. It was released for sale in 2017.

Spring Fling is a translucent pink fancy leaf with prominent green veins and black stems. It will perform very well in the full sun or shade. De-eyeing is recommended for 4 and 6-inch pots. Uses include all container sizes and landscape plantings. It has won top awards from Disney and the Florida Flower Trials for the past two years. A Bates Sons & Daughters exclu-sive. It was released for sale in 2017.

CALENDULAA new genus for Proven Winners, our new Lady Godiva Orange Calendula broadens our collec-tion of cold toler-ant annuals for spring and fall sales. Although it is known as an early season crop, this selection will take some heat and is drought tolerant once rooted in. Its unique double, golden-orange flowers have greatly reduced seed set, which encour-ages the blooms to keep right on coming all season. 10-16 inches tall x 12-18-inch spread. Part sun to sun.
