Tarkington Primary School is one of four campuses in Tarkington Independent School District. Tarkington Primary School serves 537 students in PPCD, Pre-Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grade.

The student population is 83.24% Anglo, 12.4% Hispanic, >1.0% African American with a socioeconomic status of 59.59% .

The average daily attendance rate for 2016-2017 school year was 94.33%.

Tarkington Primary School serves twenty-eight English Language Learner students (5.2%), twelve students in the Gifted and Talented program (2.2%), and76 students are served through special education services (14.1%).

Our Schoolwide Title I program consists of parent involvement activities along with math and reading professional development.

Problem Statement 1: Raise STAAR overall meets level percentage in order to gain distinctions. Campus was 42% and needed 44.5%. Root Cause: Ensureteachers are following TEKS resource system and grade levels are vertically aligned. Provide interventions based on assessment data and academic needs.
