3-CYLINDER ENGINEThe YXZ1000R is the world’s first pure sport Side-by-Side to feature a 3-cylinder engine, which is strategically mounted low and longitudinally in the middle of the vehicle to provide a low CG feeling. The compact 998cc, 12-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine features lightweight connecting rods for quick acceleration up to its indicated 10,500 rpm redline. High-performance cams help the engine produce broad, linear torque, while triple throttle bodies ensure quick and efficient throttle response. An aluminum body and head construction keeps overall engine weight down.

YXZ1000R 3-CYLINDER ENGINE

1. Yamaha-exclusive 27-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires with standard 14-inch cast aluminum wheels. 2. LED headlights give the best possible illumination with low power consumption and long service life. 3. Yamaha’s proven Electric Power Steering (EPS) provides the best balance of assist and positive feedback, providing maximum comfort and confidence. 4. Four-wheel disc brakes with twin piston calipers for superior power and feel. 5. Plush contoured high-back, cut-and-stitch seats with 8-position adjustable driver’s seat, 3-point seat belt, soft-grip tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and a full function digital meter with tachometer and shift light. 6. The cargo bed provides the best combination of functionality and durability and is rated to carry up to 300 pounds.

5-SPEED SEQUENTIAL SHIFTThe YXZ1000R features the world’s first fully manual, constant-mesh, 5-speed sequential shifting transmission with reverse. It utilizes a pedal-operated hydraulic clutch, which provides a new level of pure sport excitement. This sequential shifting transmission design from Yamaha delivers maximum power to the ground more durably and efficiently than a traditional-sport Side-by-Side CVT.

The highly adjustable shocks feature adjustable Hi- and Low-speed compression, adjustable rebound, and adjustable preload settings. The rear shocks utilize a bottom out cup (BOC) that helps maintain ongoing comfort while reducing the chance for bottoming out in extreme conditions.
