2016 Wyoming Football Club Historical Summary The poor First Grade results continued after the crisis of 10 players leaving the club at the end of 2014. All Grades (1 st , Res and 3rd) finished last and the Club had to accept that relegation to 1 st Division would provide space to rebuild its ranks. Long standing member Michael Kennedy stepped up this season to take the reins of the Grade sides after a stint at Central Coast Junior Rep Club. The results were hard to take, but at the end of the season, Michael was keen to hold the fort for the 2017 season and continue his vision for the Club to rebound. Full credit should be given to all those who participated in another difficult season. The Women’s 1 st and Res teams was forced (due to injuries and resignations) to complete the season with many of the players having to double up each weekend. Although it was a disappointing situation, it did result in success with the Reserves, who won the League Championship and Premiership. The Under 7 Gala Day again was an outstanding presentation and organized event. Jason Burke should be proud of his efforts and all other helpers. This season was marginally better than 2015 with overall nine teams making the semis. The best performance was the Boys 14A coached by the Club’s 1st Grade Coach, Michael Kennedy. The team took out the Club’s President’s Trophy and participated in the NSW Champion of Champions knockout competition. The Club team performances on the field were two League Champions and Premiers (14A and WDIV1Res), three Grand Final Runners Up (14C, 35D, 35E) and two Finalists (13B, 35A) and two Semi Finalists (WAA3, 16A).
