Chimei Museum, founded in 1992 by Mr. Wen-Long Shi, is a renowned private museum with the richest collection in Taiwan. Mr. Shi has a dream of building a museum that is for everyone to enjoy and appreciate, and a place for people to cultivate their minds and souls. He sets the goal for the museum, “These works of art are world culture heritage and treasures, as well as the assets of Taiwanese people; we are only the temporary safe-keepers, there are many more generations to pass them on. In 2014, Chimei Museum Relocated to Tainan Metropolitan Park, and reopened to the public in January 2015. Chimei Museum’s distinctive Collections: The largest violin collection in the world, including historical world famous luthier families and schools. The most complete collection of Western Fine Arts and Sculptures in Asia, which serves as an Asian window to the Western world of art. The largest animal taxidermy collection in Asia, and it displays natural history in life-like storytelling scenes. The Southern Taiwan Science Park (STSP) consists of Tainan Science Park and Kaohsiung Science Park. It occupies a total of 1,613 hectares. Tainan Science Park is located at the border of Xinshi, Shanhua,and Anding Districts in Tainan City and consists of 1,043 hectares while Kaohsiung Science Park is located at the border of Luzhu, Gangshan, and Yong’an Districts and spans over 570 hectares.

Integrated Circuits Optoelectronics Optoelectronics Biotechnology STSP has easy access to various research institutes and their resources, such as
the National Center for High-performance Computing, the MOST Chip Implementation Center, the National Nano Device Laboratories, the MOST Engineering Technology Promotion Center, the Yan Ching-ling R&D Center for Manufacturing Technology, the Metal Industries Research and Development Center, the Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center, Taiwan Sugar Research Institute, Taiwan Livestock Research Institute, and the Incubation Center, providing technology consulting services and carrying out the sharing of public resources. Alongside, the Industrial Technology Research Institute has set up a laboratory and office in STSP. The applications of R&D centers of National Cheng Kung University and National Chung Cheng University have been approved by STSPB(Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau). Academia Sinica, and other prestigious domestic and overseas research institutes will be invited to set up laboratories or offices in STSP as well. 20 associations and 20 colleges and universities were already established to promote interaction and communication between industries and academia and to provide training programs for hi-tech skilled labor. To better serve the southern high technology industrial clusters formed around STSP, the National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology has formed the Strategic Alliance of Kaohsiung and National Pingtung University of Science and Technology with another 8 universities and colleges This is to combine regional scholarly characteristics and industrial collaboration, expected to promote R&D. According to the policy of the Ministry of Education, that Strategic Alliance will be expanded to include 28 universities and colleges and meet the demands of

STSP for high-tech skilled labor. Moreover, in order to improve the R&D environment and competitive edge of STSP, STSPB and local governments have been vigorously encouraging university R&D incubation centers to post in STSP.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST), founded in 1969, is one of the 12 top technological universities in Taiwan which have been awarded special grant funding under the “Plan for the Development of Technological University Paradigms” from the Ministry of Education. STUST aims to become an internationally competitive, top-ranking university, and an excellent partner of industries. Our education emphasizes equally humanity and technology to nurture reliable young adults with a strong global mindset and pioneering thinking ability. Consisting of 4 colleges, STUST runs 28 undergraduate specialties, 30 master programs, and 4 doctoral programs.
