Viking Philosophy Football plays an important part in the total educational program of any school district. Young people learn a great deal from participation in football. Lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, competition and winning gracefully are important parts of our football program. Competing in football also improves school spirit and helps students develop pride in their school and their community. The major objective of the program is to provide opportunities for students to develop positive leadership habits and attitudes for social and group interaction. While the football staff takes great pride in winning, measurement of leadership success is not measured solely in wins and loses. The development of the athlete’s character, courage and integrity are also major objectives. The football program should be consistent with the general objectives and vision of the school.
