ABOUT JAS ASPEN SNOWMASS JAS In-Schools: JAS is a 501c3 organization. Event proceeds benefit JAS’ numerous music education and performance programs. JAS Local Education Initiatives complement existing public school music programs and replace programs where schools suffer losses in music education. The goal is to ensure that these schools maintain band and music programs in their curriculum. Since 1996 JAS has contributed over $6 million to music education!

JAS ASPEN SNOWMASS 2016 HIGHLIGHTS JAS JUNE EXPERIENCE (JUNE 24-26): includes four nights of headline concerts at the magnificent Benedict Music Tent in Aspen, CO, with a free lawn party taking place nightly on the grounds. Weekly JAS Café performances assist in adding a festival feel to the week which attracts around 10,000 attendees. Past performers include: Chicago, Steve Winwood, Diana Krall, Joe Cocker, Harry Connick Jr., Jackson Browne and Sheryl Crow.

JAS LABOR DAY EXPERIENCE (SEPT. 2-4): three days of world-class music taking place in Snowmass, CO with crowds of up to 10,000/per day. The combination of music and high-end hospitality taking place in an unparalleled natural setting, help create an experience unlike those of other large music festivals. Past performers include: No Doubt, The Black Eyed Peas, Keith Urban, Bob Dylan, OneRepublic, Zac Brown Band, Jack Johnson, Neil Young, Allman Brothers Band and many more.

JAS CAFÉ: highly successful winter and summer series of intimate jazz and world performances. Winter performances take place downstairs at The Little Nell Hotel in Aspen, where JAS has created a sophisticated candlelit nightclub setting like that found in the coolest back door clubs of New York. Summer concerts can be enjoyed on the beautiful rooftop of the new Aspen Art Museum. Past performers include: Spyro Gyra, René Marie, Tierney Sutton, Chuchito Valdez and more.

In 2014 over 1700 students were reached through JAS LEI programming! Including:

• 1,450 Hours of In-Schools Faculty Assistance from Professional Musicians

• 241 Hours of Private Lessons provided to 88 students

• Instrument Donations including flutes, clarinets, guitars, saxophones, cymbals, bassoon, amps, drums sets and a piano

• Sponsorship of the JAS District 8 Honor Jazz Program featuring 110 Students

• Sponsorship of JAS Band Battle featuring 80 students

• Sponsorship of three summer camp programs with 35 student participants

• Funding of 9 students through the JAS Student Assistance Program

• Start of the JAS Beat Lab program with 8 students
