Philosophy The Archbishop Ryan girls’ soccer camp is committed to excellence in athletics. Each athleteis taught to perform successfully at the highest possible level in accordance with the besttraining available. The aspect of technical development through the use of individual andsmall sided play is a prerequisite to playing soccer.

Camp ObjectivesOur main objective is to provide all participants with the knowledge and skill needed to fulfilltheir athletic potential in a healthy, fun environment. All participants will receive specialattention to meet their specific needs. It will introduce the camper to the fundamentalsessential to their continued development after the camp is over. The athletes are sure to leavemore skilled and confident.

Additional Information You Need To Know1. All phases of the game of soccer will be taught during the camp.2. Every camper will receive individual attention and, regardless of ability will be taught thecorrect and professional way to play soccer.

3. A skills competition will be conducted to evaluate campers abilities in basic soccer skills4. Register early! 5. The Camp Fee of $140 includes: a T-shirt, ball & instruction6. Bring to camp: practice gear including cleats, shinguards and soccer ball, shoes for indooractivities, sunscreen, wet weather gear and a lunch. Be sure to label your gear! We are notresponsible for lost or misplaced belongings.

Soccer Camp DirectorsJonathan GeistCamp DirectorHead Coach for Archbishop Ryan Girls’ SoccerCoach Geist had been the girls’ soccer assistant coach for the past four seasons under

previous girls’ coach and new Archbishop Ryan boys’ soccer coach Ryan Haney ‘97. As anassistant, Coach Geist helped the girls’ soccer program win four consecutive champi-onships from 2012 to 2015, the first girls’ soccer program in Philadelphia Catholic Leaguehistory to accomplish this feat. Geist was a two sport athlete at Archbishop Ryan, partici-pating in both soccer and tennis under current athletic director, George Todt. As a player onthe boys’ soccer team, Geist won three Philadelphia Catholic League championships in1995, 1996 and 1998. Geist continued his soccer career at Wesley College and ultimatelygraduated from Temple University. Geist earned his National D Soccer Coaching Licensein 2008 and spent time coaching the girls’ program at Bishop Eustace High School inSouth Jersey. Geist is also active with the Parkwood Youth Organization. For his work withboth Archbishop Ryan and Parkwood he was named Southeastern Pennsylvania SoccerCoach of the Year in 2015. Geist is married to a fellow 1999 Archbishop Ryan alum andhas a four year old son, Ben.

Ryan HaneyAssistant Camp DirectorHead Coach for Archbishop Ryan Boys’ SoccerRyan Haney was the Head Coach for the Archbishop

Ryan Girls Varsity Soccer Team since 2005; achieving over150 wins in 10 years. He led the girls to five CatholicLeague Championships (2007, 2008, 2012, 2013 & 2014),four City Championships (2008, 2012, 2013 & 2014), the2008 and 2012 PIAA semi-finals, the 2014 PIAAquarter-finals, and consecutive playoff appearances since2006. Ryan holds a National D Soccer Coaching License; hehas earned the 2008 Philadelphia Inquirer Southeastern HighSchool Girls Coach of the Year and was voted High SchoolGirls Coach of the Year by the Old Timers Association in2007 and 2008. He was also voted the Northeast Times HighSchool Coach of the Year in 2007, 2012 and 2014. In 2010,Ryan had the honor of being inducted into the ArchbishopRyan Soccer Hall of Fame.A 1997 graduate of Archbishop Ryan; Ryan led the team to the Catholic League

Championship in 1995 & 1996. He was named Philadelphia Inquirer, News Gleaner,Northeast Times and Southeastern Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year in 1996.Ryan attended Temple University where he earned Philadelphia Soccer Seven Rookie ofthe Year, Philadelphia Soccer Seven All Star and holds a record for all time single seasongoals and points. He also attended Rider University earning All MAAC Tournament Teamand led the team in scoring and assists.
