Nevada Ballet Theatre’s 45th Season opens with A Smith Center Premiere, the full-length production of The Sleeping Beauty. A vengeful fairy, a beautiful princess and a delicate pierce of her finger lead to a 100 year slumber for an entire kingdom, breakable only by the kiss of a handsome prince. Set to a lyrical score by Tchaikovsky, a bounty of ethereal fairies and courtly splendor fills this enchanted land. As the power of true love’s kiss triumphs, characters from across the land arrive to celebrate, each with a joyful dance worthy of this happy ending. The Sleeping Beauty is a fairy tale the entire family will enjoy.

NBT is honored to present the classic love story of all ballets, Swan Lake, in a full-length production with orchestra. This Smith Center Premiere will be staged by the legendary Cynthia Gregory, whose definitive performance as Odette/Odile led her to be described as America’s prima ballerina assoluta by Rudolph Nureyev. Ms. Gregory will be staging her greatest role on a new generation of dancers, making this engagement of Swan Lake the cultural event of the season. Set to Tchaikovsky’s glorious score, this romantic fable of ill-fated love is a beautiful, atmospheric, moving experience, and a must-see for ballet aficionados and newcomers alike.

that arts involvement reduces student dropout rates by 18%2.

Our Future Dance GO-MOVE-DANCE!!! program teachesover 1,000 elementary school students in Clark County the joy,

creativity, and healthy habits that dance can provide. With only 3%of U.S. public schools providing their own dance curriculum3,

programs like this fill a critical educational need.
