Silversea Expeditions attracts travellers who are keen to keep exploring the remote regions of our fascinating planet. That’s why we’re always adding new destinations to our itineraries. In 2016, we’re pleased to debut more than 100 new ports. These include Aldabra Atoll – the world’s second-largest coral atoll – in the southern Seychelles, and Agats in Indonesia’s Papua province, home to the once-feared Asmat tribe.

Some of our new expedition experiences include flying to Bagan from Yangon to explore over 3000 standing monuments and spotting elephants in Yala National Park in Sri Lanka, a wildlife sanctuary that is over 100 years old.

Once again, we’ll journey to our planet’s polar extremes. For many modern-day adventurers, Antarctica represents the final frontier. We nose through iceberg-strewn waters and pass mighty glaciers to track down sunbathing seals, breaching whales and playful penguins.

Our Arctic cruises take passengers in search of polar bears, walrus, reindeer, seals, whales and seabirds during the brief summer thaw. Extraordinary marine and bird life is also a highlight of our expeditions to the Galápagos Islands off Ecuador. Australia’s untamed Kimberley region offers ancient landscapes and indigenous rock art, along with rugged cliffs and thundering waterfalls.

In an exclusive partnership, Silversea Expeditions and the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) have joined forces to spread knowledge collated from centuries of scientific exploration. Founded nearly 200 years ago to advance geographical science, The Society, whose patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, will share some of the world’s most important geographical research and archive material.

The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is a respected professional body for geography and geographers and is one of the largest societies of its

kind in the world, as well as the biggest in Europe. The Society has been a notable supporter and communicator of the work of explorers and scientists, including those of Charles Darwin, David Livingstone, Robert Scott, Sir Ernest Shackleton and Sir Edmund Hillary.

Dating back as far as 1472, there are more than two million items in the Society’s historic collection. Silversea Expeditions guests will benefit from a wide range of specialist visual and written content from the Society, enabling guests to learn even more about their expedition destination.
