Midweek Advent Services
Wednesdays at 7 pm
In Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol Ebenezer
Scrooge was visited by three spirits that helped to
teach him about celebrating Christmas. With a nod to that classic story,
our Advent services this year will focus on the “Spirits” of Advent,
different attitudes that we have when it comes to Jesus’ Advents, his
comings, which include his past coming to save us, his present coming
through Word and Sacrament and his future coming on the Last Day.
Week 1 – Nov. 30 – The Spirit of Advent Past – A Spirit of Repentance Week 2 – Dec. 7 – The Spirit of Advent Present – A Spirit of Joy Week 3 – Dec. 14 – The Spirit of Advent Yet to Come – A Spirit of Hope

These Students
SHINE!
Congratulations to
our First Quarter
Students of the
Quarter!
Dylann is an excellent Second-Grade leader in
Mrs. Avila’s classroom. She always listens
aentively and loves to answer questions. She
gets right to work on assignments and works
hard to write neatly. She strives to do her best
on all her schoolwork. Congratulations,
Dylann!
Fifth-Grader Lydia started this school year
ready to learn and focus on her studies, as her
teacher, Miss Thumann reports. She is
excellent in class participation and works
neatly in all her subjects. She strives to get
100% on all her assignments. Lydia sets a
good example for the class!
Fourth-Grader Logan is organized, diligent,
and a meticulous worker. He is willing to
help his classmates but can also
constructively guide them back to task. He
understands the importance of doing his
work before pursuing his own interests at
school.
Mr. Avila chose Eighth-grader Kailyn
because she is a great leader in and out of the
classroom. She does an excellent job in her
school work and shows her many God-given
talents in the classroom. Kailyn works hard,
follows directions, and is a blessing to have
in the classroom!
