1955 was a milestone for Volkswagen in more ways

than one. It was the year that the millionth VW Beetle

was produced and it coincided with the formation of the

Volkswagen Club of Western Australia Inc.

The Volkswagen Club of WA membership varies from the

family with their Kombi Camper or Passat, to the Uni stu-

dent with their aged Beetle or Golf, from the mechanic

who has his competitive version to the enthusiast with

their project. The numbers include both air and water-

cooled versions.

The club organizes at least one event or run for members

each month. This could be an easy run with picnic, a visit

to a country town, a meal at a restaurant, attendance at a

car show, a cruise with overnight camping or any other

event members request.

Our membership covers all corners of the state, singles

and families, country and metro.

The Club produces a monthly magazine known as the Via

West in which announcements, meetings, technical tips,

general news and members advertisements are to be

found.

The VW Club of WA turns 60 in 2015.
